Change of plans for tonight. I am going to sew with my mother so the hubby is on his own for dinner. He;ll be having the chicken and veggie kabobs with rice. I'll be eating with my parents and having salmon and roasted brussel sprouts with either rice or quinoa.

    Loved the soup/Aldi video!

Last night we had chicken-corn chowder. For some foolish reason, I thought it needed something and I added a little tiny pinch of cayenne. DW could barely eat it, but she was thrilled that I made biscuits to go with it.

Tonight is going to be pasta carbonara with parm, bacon, asparagus (HT $1.99). I have a birthday cake to make today for DW's bday tomorrow. White buttermilk cake, mocha buttercream, chocolate ganache, garnish of candied sliced almonds. I need to get busy!

Gator Girll - WOW! You were really productive this morning. I am impressed!

I've got a meeting tonight at 7:00 so no official dinner this evening. However I got up early and made 5 dozen cookies, 4 dozen sausage balls, and some pimiento cheese before taking my DH to a day-long doctors appointment at 10:30. Just wanted to make some stuff for folks to snack on at the meeting. If I get home in time I'll turn the pimiento cheese into little "tea" sandwiches. If not, I'll just have it with Krackers.

Faye you and I are on the same page. However I'm going to fix a big batch of homemade soup on Saturday night. I usually fix a stock pot full and can eat on it for at least 3-4 days or freeze it for later. I love homemade soup on a cold day!

SOUP! My plan is to make homemade vegetable soup today with all the great veggie deals from Aldi. I'm serving it with grilled cheese sandwiches (to dip in the soup, of course!). I always love the first batch of homemade soup every fall. :-)
