Great recommendations - the French toast was delicious! I made it with a loaf of the Band of Bakers cinnamon raisin bread from a HT sale quite a while back. I will be picking up another loaf for sure.

observant - I'm with you on the French Toast for Jdouglas! And I hope you are feeling better soon. My seasonal allergies aren't as bad as yours, but they are no fun when they kick in. And I totally agree with you on the new foods and recipes I have tried because of everyone who posts here! Love the tips and advice you all offer!

    ! Nakabi - I haven't tried salmon in salad - but I now I will !
I do love smoked salmon- with or without cheese on (cr#ckers ?)- (a very healthy snack with protein !).
JDOUGLAS13 - My vote : French Toast and sausage !

nakabi - the chicken kiev is already made and frozen. It's packaged by Barber foods and they are on sale with coupon for free at Harris Teeter this week with super doubles. I just put it in the oven and bake it until the chicken is cooked. My kids really like them and it is an easy dinner after a very long week. I am just having the loaded baked potato and broccoli. :-)

Observant, I'm passing you some tissues. I hear you. Give me winter, even up north, over fall any day. Feel better! Are you looking forward to the possible frost? :) I like your idea of brownies too.

Dinner is still to be decided, but I'm debating between (a) French toast with a really nice loaf of cinnamon raisin bread I found in the freezer with some breakfast sausage on the side, or (b) seeing if I can pick enough usable greens to make some kind of salad with shrimp. That sounds so good, RFB. Maybe a Caesar salad?

I had hoped to do some shopping today since we are basically out of vegetables, but DW and I decided to start flipping mattresses, and now we're worn out. DW told me not to worry about the veg....

Observant- thanks for the heads up on FL! I haven't paid much attention to their e-mails, and will now :-) And sorry for your sneezing/allergies. I know how miserable that can be!

Nakabi- happy baking! Sounds lovely... as does your dinner.

BJHOLMES53- your salad sounds amazing, btw!

Wow, all these menus look great!
Faye- how do you make chicken Kiev?
Meredith-the acorn squash sounds good! May I suggest some crumbled bacon for some crunch? Also some pico would be good with it!
RFB-shrimp in salad is one of my faves! Too bad you can't have salmon; we love it in salad!!

I scored some awesome sirloin steak markdowns last night ($4.50/lb) so F (it's her night to help cook supper) and I are making Indonesian beef rendang, Jasmine rice cooked in coconut milk, garlicky steamed green beans, and sauteed zucchini. The Littles and I have a baking date this afternoon once I pick up D from school which they are thrilled about:-)
