GranOFTwenty - one more week of "school" for the girls (AKA cleaning out lockers and watching animated movies at school for my middle schooler - I kid you not).

RFB - I can't wait to hear if you won! If so, we are taking a trip to Maine to your new B&B!!

    Raesmom - got it. :-)

meredith88 - your Brasilian dinner sounds lovely.

ybaverage2003 - YUM on the banana bread!!!!

losltp - I agree - last year we had a lot of bad peaches. So glad the ones at Kroger were good. I'll get another bunch this week.

I had yet another meal detour tonight. Gonna be one of those weeks. We ended up having to go to the Smithfield library since the Clayton one now charges $25 for a library card - I will be posting about that ridiculous new fee later. It set us back some time this evening so we just picked up sandwiches to go in Smithfield and ate when we got home. I should have just bought the library card instead of the sandwiches! lol

LOSLTP- YES! You know us well... that is exactly what we'd love!

All the dinners sound so good tonight !
I have no plan right now - possibly breakfast for dinner
Faye and Granof20 - YEAH- I like the smaller peaches !! Last year too many of the large ones I got were "mealy " or rotten inside while hard outside .
RFB - I hope you find a NICE place to garden and a good lake to fish and swim in !

Tonight we are having a traditional Brasilian dinner. Rice, black beans, fried eggs, lettuce and tomatoes. Rice is always on hand, black beans are on sale at HT this week, eggs from our chickens, and lettuce and tomatoes are always in the fridge for salads. We are having company over as well so I will probably grill a chicken breast to go with it. If you're not used to eating the simple Brasilian meals it can feel like not enough food without the meat.

GranofTwenty- our lease is up in a few months, so we're considering looking for a cute house with some land on the outskirts of Raleigh (hoping to learn how to garden once and for all!)

Faye- we won't know anything until Saturday! :-) It's been so fun seeing so much passion from everyone involved! I think it was back in '87 that the last person won the Inn.

RFB - you are moving ?? Good Luck on the contest and/or house hunt .
Don't forget us here if you move to Maine !!
Faye - sometimes small fruit is better tasting -plus I can stretch it further ( more peaches per pound and allow one per person ) ! Are your girls out for the summer yet ??

GranOFTwenty - I agree about the Kroger peaches. They are small but tasted very good.

RFB - Good Luck!! Do you know if you are in the top 20? How exciting! And good luck on the house hunting. That 1907 home sounds neat.

JustMe83 - your broccoli casserole with breadcrumb topping sounds great!

Raesmom - I hope you are feeling more like yourself soon. I sent you an e-mail. You won the Kroger coupons (yay!) but I can't find your address. Can you e-mail it to me again? :-)

    twinredheads - great salad!
