ascherer - I love that: "Jdouglas night" for mac and cheese! Very funny!

    raesmom1612 - that's what I figured with the chicken. :-)

Tonight is everyone fend for yourself. DH has softball games at 7:45 and 8:45. Plus he is leaving straight from work. I may have a jdouglas night (m&c). I agree with everyone else about the weekends cooler weather. I'm thinking baked ziti one night.

Observant, I'm with Raesmom. Definitely need to have garlic bread with extra garlic please! LOL. Ciabatta bread makes lovely garlic bread. Enjoy!

BJMHolmes, I stumbled across a little store today that seems to be all about gluten free ingredients near 40-42 in Clayton. There is a little strip mall on the eastbound side that has a thrift shop I went to today, and saw the gluten free store next door.

Dinner tonight is either going to be breaded chicken cutlets with pierogies and string beans, or spaghetti and meatballs (I made a batch a while back and froze them) and a salad. I'm hoping to make some pasta/veggie soup soon with kale - also delicious with garlic bread.

Observant~p.s. You HAVE to have the bread, it wont be the same without it (per my DH) lol DH wont eat it if we dont have any :)

LOL Faye! It's for the people I live iwith. Believe me I eat the sides or a salad. DH talks about everytime. You would think that after almost 9 yrs of marriage he would be over it lol.

Observant~That is awesome!!! I really hope you like it. It is a very versatile recipe and can be done a billion different ways. This is the one I started with then sorta made it into my own. Hope you like it!!

Thank You for the Baked Ziti recipe !
I got the ingredients I didn't have on hand so it is on our menu this weekend ( baked in oven means warm house - good for COOL weekend ) .
Planning to serve with salad -and maybe Italian bread as well ( not sure if we need the extra carbs ). too early to think of dessert - going to look at fruit options tomorrow

raesmom1612 - for someone who does not like chicken, you are sure making a lot of it these days! lol I hope Rae is feeling better this afternoon.

All this soup talk has me even more excited for the cooler weather! And tonight I'm going to use the rest of the turnip greens from the Farmers Market along with the fingerling potatoes. I think I'll roast the potatoes up with some mustard and thyme and sauté the greens up with some leeks. I might even add some corn. Then for DH, I'll add in some cut up meat from last night :-)

bjmholmes3 - your new recipes sounds great! That pumpkin bread with walnuts really sounds amazing!

Speaking of soup....Yesterday, my youngest and I finished up the last of the homemade veggie soup I had batch cooked and frozen a couple weeks ago. She wanted to know when it would be cool outside again so I would make more soup. lol I told her Sunday would be a soup making day so she was pretty happy about it. I asked her if she wanted any other kind of soup (cream of mushroom, corn chowder, etc). She was very clear that she only wanted veggie soup with sea shell pasta. So that's what I'll make Sunday. :-)

    Faye sounds yummy!

bjholmes3~sounds like my oven the past few days :)

Tonight will be baked crispy chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies on the side. Rae is home with DH today so no baking for me, however we do have enough cookies and cupcakes to feed the neighborhood so I think we will be ok until the weekend
