    Thanks !!
I try to plan each meal to cover us at least twice -for me it saves time & energy.
I am very lucky my husband loves my cooking and leftovers .
We usually skip a day before recycling/serving again . If we do not eat after 3 or 4 days it gets foodsaved/frozen if possible and re-heated or re-purposed somehow in a couple of weeks . Yes I have forgotten things or had so few scraps the cats get a party but I have gotten better and throw out less now .

Your naughty pups would be a goodmatch for my bad kitties . I closed one in the fridge by accident - he was laying there chewing a soda bottle when I found him a short time later . Sometimes I do not know whether to punishe them or love them when they do something bad that could get them hurt . lol
PS I did a complete fridge cleaning right after I secured the bad boy and his partners out of the kitchen ( away from cleaners).

Actually came on here to say I finally decided on spaghetti and meatballs, sauce and meatballs from the freezer. I may just have enough space now for a couple of those Earth Fare chickens!

Lostp, had to laugh about the cats and the fridge. I have one of the old-style refrigerators with the freezer on top and the fridge on the bottom. To my horror, a couple of weeks ago, I was standing in front of the open fridge looking for something, only to look down and see one of the naughty twins trying to eat a piece of raw chicken I had defrosting on a plate on the bottom shelf. The little devil child (pup) actually climbed into the refrigerator and was having himself a grand old time.

Needless to say, we had something else for dinner, and I had another clean-up task to do. LOL

    What a great viewpoint!

My husband calls leftovers "second chance at a great meal"
The cats call it "fridge day "
We recently cooked a roast beef that we got 8 meals out of ( plus scraps for soup)

jdougls-your soup sounds great! I make one similar to it and add fresh mozzerella to it.

I here by announce that the term "buffet night" be used by all Smart Shopper followers from now on instead of reffering it as "left overs night" LOL im bored

Vegetable beef soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Side salad for anyone that wants one with their soup.
