Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like. We are headed to the fair as well tonight so we'll find something creative to eat I'm sure ;)

Chicken in Wine Sauce with BOGO chicken breasts from LF, cream of chicken soup (instead of wine- either works fine) from past sale, Swiss cheese from past HT sale and stuffing mix in pantry. Green Beans on the side (got today on markdown from 3.99 to 1.29 from LF) stir fried with some garlic and mushrooms (had leftover).

Meatloaf from the freeze that I made a while back, mashed potatoes, green beans. We'll need an easy meal tonight. Hoping at some point to make some oatmeal-cranberry-raisin-orange-walnut cookies. We're going through dessert withdrawal after all the bday cakes.

Shrimp Creole - that sounds yummy, mrschizzy! Any chance you have a link to the recipe you use?

mys1983 - I kind of did the same thing yesterday with our BBQ chicken. I wanted a little different flavor than just honey BBQ so I poured in a little bit of light Italian dressing with the BBQ sauce in the slow cooker with the chicken. It made a delicious sauce. My 14 yr old thought it was much better with the additional Italian dressing added than the usual BBQ sauce, garlic powder, onions and pepper. She couldn't stop snacking on it after school.

Good luck tonight at the fair, raesmom. Be careful with the possible thunderstorms.

Thanks to all for sharing their meals today.

Shrimp Creole - a recipe my mother-in-law tried and loved! I am doing mine in the crockpot, though, so it will be easier! The best part is, I only needed to get a few ingredients because she already had a bunch left over that she didn't use and gave to me!

a bbq chicken concoction I threw in the crockpot last night...came out pretty good! I should prepare food when I am exhausted more often. Didn't put much thought into it, just tossed everything in(half asleep) and went to bed!!!!

Leftover lasagna, tossed salad, and garlic ciabatta rolls from last night. I'm taking it easy tonight so we can watch football.
