Faye, the plum/blueberry cake was delicious ! Think pineapple upside cake but with thinly sliced plums instead. The blueberries settled into the cake a bit too far, but it was still yummy. New favorite and EASY dessert !

I meant to say that tonight dinner is out with friends. It will be nice to get out for something fun.

Everyone's menus sound so good I can't choose a favorite!

Garlic naan? Oooh I have to try to make some of that.

Ascherer, so glad you are getting to see your Momma. 40 days can seem like an eternity. Stay safe.

Last night's dinner was basically a huge shrimp cocktail. Lettuce, shrimp, cocktail sauce. It seems salad has become my new comfort food this week. It was really good. I had black licorice candy for dessert. Not black jelly beans sadly, but a girl has do make do with what she can get in the off season.

Tonight we are having chicken and pasta primavera, caprese salad, garlic bread and cheesecake. Is it time for dinner yet???? ;-)

Last night we had a lovely dinner with my dad at an Indian restaurant in Cary on High House Rd called Nazara Indian Bistro. The Chicken Tikka Masala I ordered was delicious (especially with the garlic naan) and I highly recommend it! I also tasted the scallops dish and it was fabulous. Our waitress was so nice and the bartender recommended Taj Majal beer for my dad and it was so tasty. All around wonderful experience.

ascherer - Happy Sunday to you as well! I hope your mom's place is unharmed by the hurricane. I'm sure she is very grateful that you are able to help her out with the house.

ybaverage2003 - that blueberry filled plum cake sounds very interesting. How was it?

DH and I spent yesterday preparing Momma's house for Irma. Momma is 7 blocks from the ocean just south of Myrtle Beach. I'm glad we started yesterday. There is now a wind advisory (for 25 to 35 mph winds with gusts up to 50 mph) in place for Monday. Dinner was subs. We will finish the prep today. We are staying through the high winds.

No clue about dinner tonight but we will figure it out when Momma gets here. I can't wait to see her but her cats will be so excited to have her home. It has been a long 40 days.

    Happy Sunday everyone.

Faye, I LOVE Indian food. Let us know where you end up and what you have, etc.
Took a pot roast out of the freezer. Will roast some onions, carrots, celery with it and going to make mashed potatoes and lots of gravy. Trying to make a blueberry filled plum upside down cake for dessert. :)
