Last night was out- brought home 2 entrees to have tomorrow with a salad. Today it's all about football at our house-chicken wings, fries, carrot& celery sticks. will be blueberry/corn muffins later and using the potato skins and chicken bones to make soup for me to eat during the week for lunch.

Ascherer sounds like you had a great time. Welcome back!

    Enjoy dinner out Faye :)

Awesome deal on the chicken jdouglas!

We ended up staying home (it just looked ugly outside) and instead of the pork chops and dressing for dinner, I was craving pasta, so Rae and I made homemade mozzarella stuffed meatballs and sauce and had a nice salad full of veggies and some bread on the side.

Next Sunday is baby ziti's first birthday (I know I can't believe it either) so since we will be making her smash cake next weekend I decided to pass on the cake this weekend. We just munched on some oreo's and girl scout cookies instead.

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone ;)

Dinner tonight will be on the road. Dinner last night was at our favorite place in Myrtle Beach. Dinner Friday night was gourmet buffet. We want to use up everything instead of bring it back home. Our week in Orlando was great and reasonable inexpensive with just Momma, DH and I. Our big day was Wednesday when we went to Big Cat Rescue and had a nice dinner out. Everything else was free admission and we fixed our meals at the resort. Even the resort was cheap because Momma traded got it almost free for trading in a timeshare week. Every evening we saw fireworks from our window. We drove back to Myrtle Beach yesterday and are heading home shortly. Now back to the real world and cooler temps.

Tonight is a no-cook night for me! Dinner with friends.

jdouglas13 - great job on batch cooking all that chicken. Will be great in recipes for weeks to come.

Tonight is dinner at a friend's house. I think we are having breakfast for dinner. Eggs, potatoes, etc. Rest of family is on their own. There is Rotisserie chicken in fridge that they can do whatever they want with it. Yesterday we had salsa chicken quasadillas and I had salsa chicken on salad with guacamole and salsa as a dressing with food should taste good multigrain chips.

Yesterday I cranked up the slow cooker and made 4 of the bone-in split chicken breasts HT has BOGO this week. After a quick browning, I cooked them in white wine, a bouillon cube, some garlic, and some each of Penzey's Northwoods Seasoning and Mural of Flavor blends. I ended up with a huge amount of meat after deboning and shredding, as well as a very flavorful broth.

That all said, tonight some of it will turn into chicken and biscuit style dumplings for dinner with an assortment of veg. The rest of the chicken is destined for the freezer for future soup, etc. I think I only paid $6 total for the chicken. Definitely a bargain!

RFB - the slow cooked steaks look good! What cut of meat did you use?

RaleighFoodBlogger - That looks amazing in the photos! And I love the way the gravy is made in the pan before it goes in to the slow cooker. Thank you for the link.

Faye- I was just coming on to add the link. YUM! Just came out of the crock pot and I could eat the whole thing before dinner. I made it exactly as written :)
