raesmom1612 - thanks for posting the recipe. I can see why it was so good!

    This is the full recipe.....

    6 cups of whole milk

2 cups of semi sweet chocolate chips

    2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

2 cups of heavy whipping cream

1 can of sweetened condensed milk

1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder

Throw it all in the crock pot on low for 2 hours mixing with a whisk after 1 hour. I'm sure there are a bunch of different things you can add to it.....cinnamon, peppermints, more chocolate, etc but we just topped ours with mini marshmallows......warmed the soul :)

It pretty good Faye even for myself who I must admit am not a big chocolate fan. Rae and I both had two mugs full. There was enough leftover to fill up a 64 oz container. Next time I'll cut the recipe in half. I'll post the recipe I found in a bit.

Tonight is leftovers from Friday (spare ribs and salad) and Saturday (apps) plus anything we can find at Momma's. I'm not sure we really need to eat dinner. We have nibbled all day.

raesmom1612 - I have wondered about the hot chocolate in the slow cooker. It looks good on the recipes I have seen. Enjoy your roast and CHEESECAKE!!

Just finished hot chocolate in the crock pot sooooo good!!!! Dinner tonight will be pizza, popcorn, chips and salsa and cookies as we watch Christmas movies for one last night until next year. Then it's off to bed for Rae to prepare for the big guys arrival :)

Tomorrow (tonight before bed) I am doing our Christmas morning casserole so that it will be ready by morning and tomorrow's dinner will be beef roast seasoned with Lipton beefy onion soup and Mrs Dash garlic and herb seasoning with potatoes carrots and onions in the slow cooker and cheesecake for dessert. Looking forward to some time at home with the girls and no work. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Kwanzaa to all celebrating!!!

coupon4me - I like your "bunch of snack-y things"! lol

  • coupon4me Dec 24, 1:50 p.m.

Last night I made eggplant parm with meat sauce, we had that with whole wheat spaghetti.
Today I made a heavy lunch, breaded pork chops with country gravy and corn. We had that because dinner after church will be a bunch of snack-y things!
    Happy Holidays to all!

    Appetizers for dinner

  • jdouglas13 Dec 24, 1:13 p.m.

Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas everyone!

I think tonight DW and I will be following the trend of apps for dinner. I bought a big wheel of brie at HT for half price last week, and we will have some of it on crakers or baguette slices with tomato-raisin chutney I made a while back. Also, shrimp with cocktail sauce, garlic stuffed olives, and celery with Alouette (B2G3 HT). I made an old family Christmas cookies recipe yesterday, in honor of my Mom, that are somewhat reminiscent of snickerdoodles but even better. So, cookies for dessert. :)

RFB, after the holidays, I'd love the recipe for the caramel cake if you don't mind sharing. Yum!
