Well, looks like our steak on the grill got rained out. I guess it's just as well I forgot to take it out of the freezer.

Tonight will be ham & swiss on rye with tomato, cookies for dessert.

Tonight is our street/neighborhood party. So dinner will be apps over there. I'm taking sausage cheese balls.

Tonight's dinner is going to be a simple one... tacos with all the fixings and rice.

Oops -- dinner! Since it is already 70 degrees and not even noon yet, I'm very tempted to get a steak out of the freezer and fire up the grill. Sides of baked potatoes and grilled asparagus from the Fresh Market this past week. Yummy, easy, no clean up.

Last night we had bone-in pork chops over stuffing and green beans with mushrooms and garlic. I even made my famous (or infamous? LOL) Pneumonia of 2009 Scottish Shortbread topped with demerara sugar. I remembered while making it while it was named that -- it was so easy, that even feeling as rotten as I did that year, it was a snap to make, and perfect for a little something sweet. If anyone wants the recipe, give me a shout.

    Happy Sunday everyone!

Tonight I'm having dinner out with a friend so another night of no cooking for me. This also means another night of no dinner dishes. How sad...... NOT. ;-)

ascherer - that was so sweet and so well said. :-)

raesmom1612 - You had me at baked ziti! So glad your beach outing was so much fun with your niece.

coupon4me - Bummer on the Salisbury steak, but at least you got to hang with your boys. :-) I've never made Salisbury steak either.

GJan1 - that was so kind of you to offer Jdouglas some med. advice. And as far as what's trending in apps...this party had lots of finger foods and great finger desserts. My favorite treats were the mini eclairs. Love those little creamy chocolate fat bombs. lol

Gjan, thank you so much for your sound advice and kindess! Both are much appreciated and good to know. I've been drinking lots of water in addition to my usual coffee and diet Coke. Hopefully they balance each other out! That was so sweet of you to go the extra mile for me in your explanations -- thank you. :)

I, too, can't imagine my days without this group. Ascherer, you said it perfectly and beautifully, and I could not add a thing. :)

I feel blessed to be a part of this group in the 4 yrs I've been here. We have shared so much of our lives together. When one of us has a family member coming home from a war zone, a death of a family member (especially a parent), celebrate an anniversary or birthday, are sick or caring for family members that are sick, etc - we care. We share our history and memories. It doesn’t matter that most of us have not met. We are still a part of this quirky group that is its own family with Faye as the Mom. We are different races, religions, cultures, politics, backgrounds, health issues, and even sexes but we don’t care. We share our highs and our lows; grocery/drug/and other store sales; our meals, our family, and this blog. Somehow it just works.

    Thank you all.

Was out and about most of the day today just wasting time with my boys :-). But I did get the chance to get home to make dinner. We had Salisbury steak with brown rice and green beans. That was my first time making that but probably won't again ha.
