Grilled burgers, tater tots/curly fries and corn on the cob. Taking advantage of what may be (hopefully) the last really warm day of the year :)

jdouglas13 - So true about the whipped cream! lol

Tonight - pork roast , slaw and either potatoes or mac & cheese.

RFB - I am totally lost -where are you ??
I did not know you had moved !
GLAD you still speak up around here -.
what about your blog ?? ( I am embarrassed to say I lost the link )
Iwish you much happiness and time with your family !!

The pie was one of the strangest things I've made in a while. It rose a good 3 inches above the top of the pie plate while it was in the oven. Once done and starting to cool, it collapsed to a normal looking custard pie. It had to chill overnight, so tonight will be the taste test. Lots of whipped cream can fix almost anything. ;)

Dinner might be steak on the grill from a prior sale, baked potatoes, maybe salad. Or not! LOL

KIDDZA - I agree with RFB - your "lots of love" part was so sweet! And a good reminder of why we cook night after night for our families - cause we love them. :-)

RFB - I hope your internet issues are resolved soon. And thanks for the zucchini boats reminder. It's been a while since I made those.

jdouglas13 - how did the pie turn out??

Jdouglas- thank you! Yes, our 2 main stores now are Fresh Market and Harris Teeter. There is also an Ingles, but their coupon policy is truly ridiculous and confusing :( Your old faithful sounds delicious, as does your pie.

Kiddza- that sounds delicious! Love the lots of love part :)

    Beef vegetable soup
Beef, potatos, onion, garlic cloves, beef broth, diced tomatoes northern beans & lots of love.

RFB, glad you arrived at your folks safely. I'm sure they are feeling more comfortable having you there with them. Enjoy this special time with them. Your soup tonight sounds good. Do you have a Fresh Market near your new home? If I correctly recall your new location, I think there is an HT there as well.

Tonight is old faithful - M&C, roasted broccoli. I also made a lemon-coconut impossible pie which is doing some very odd falling soufflé-like things in the oven as I type this. It may end up being more pudding than pie. I'm waiting for it to get done so the M&C can go in for a quick broil. Clearly, we don't have dinner very early around here. :)

Faye- thanks for your note yesterday. Just saw it as internet is not the best here (first priority to fix on Monday!) The corn casserole sounds delicious- will need to add to the menu next week!

Tonight we had Turkey Meatball Asparagus Soup using the 3lb. ground turkey pack for $10 from HT and the asparagus sale from F. Market. We also had the sale HT Rosemary bread on the side with the free butter :)

Tomorrow I think I'll make some Ground Turkey Parmigiana Zucchini Boats using the rest of the turkey.

Tonight we are having buffalo chicken, corn casserole, salad.

Sunday night we are having a creamy chicken, pasta, cheese and veggie bake with rolls.

    Have a great weekend, everyone!
