    Jdouglas - I'm no help here. My dad took us out to dinner to celebrate my oldest's b-day. We had Japanese food. How was your M&C??

    twinredheads - I love portabella sandwiches! And I don't eat cheeseburgers either so I woudl have been all other the shroom burger. :-)

    It's National Cheeseburger day so I grilled burgers for the family and I had a portabella burger. Served with tater tots and corn on the cob.

    Raesmom - Sorry, we were at Angelo's last night. If you are going - go early or late. They have a party of 96 people coming in tonight and they are expecting crowds like last night. We waited 30 minutes and it was worth every bite. Tell your DH Happy Birthday from us.

    Tonight is gourmet buffet. Options are chili, leftover Angelo's, and anything else I can find in the fridge. Tomorrow is dinner at my Aunt Jerrie's with all of her family.

    Happy weekend everyone! Sounds like y'all have some fun things planned. :)

    Raesmom, your menu last night sounds really good. I am so very proud of myself -- I actually made edible pork chops last night. I had a small boneless pork loin that I cut into chops, and followed a recipe (another miracle) that was so good and easy: make a 50/50 mixture of parm and breadcrumbs, garlic powder, and black pepper. Coat chops in a little EVOO, coat well in breadcrumb mixture, put on a lined, greased sheet pan, drizzle or spray a little more EVOO over the top of the crumbs, and bake at 350 about 20 minutes until done. They were so good! I used foil to line the sheet pan and drizzed EVOO on it, but next time I think I will use parchment because some of the chops stuck to the foil.

    Dinner tonight is probably going to be baked chicken drumsticks, gnocchi in parsley-garlic butter sauce, and green beans. I'm hoping to do some baking this afternoon, so maybe more plum cake for dessert.

    Last night we had pork chops in the oven seasoned with basil, parsley, oregano and I poured some Italian dressing over it.....DH went in for seconds lol. We had them with Mac and cheese and green peas.

    Today we are off for a quick weekend trip. DH's birthday is Tuesday so we are heading to Charlotte to visit some of his college buddies for a few hours today and then we are off to myrtle beach to stay at a hotel tonight for a chartered fishing trip tomorrow morning (at 7am and yes with both baby girls!!!)......maybe we will see you at Angelos tonight Ascherer :)

    coupon4me - Yay for date night! Have fun. I don't know N. Raleigh restaurants very well so I'm not much help there. But I can highly recommend Waraji on Duraleigh Rd and 70 (up past Crabtree) if you are in the mood for sushi. Theirs is excellent. Let us know where you end up going and what you think.

    Tonight I am going out with friends. Tomorrow night is probably leftover Parkers BBQ since we are taking a trip to Wilson this weekend to visit my mom's graveside. Can't go to Wilson without some Parkers. :-)

    Last night was be pulled pork, leftover baked beans, avacado and I baked a loaf of frozen corn bread. We have a date night tonight so looking forward to that! Any suggestions on restaurants in North Raleigh? We aren't picky.
