Raesmom1612 - and that is why we have air conditioning - so we can have soup in the summer!

Jdouglas sure you can have so excited brownies!!! Although your brownies are a billion times better ;)

Faye the jelly was pretty and tasty (it was purple)

Tonight started off with chicken breast in the crock pot and I wasn't sure where it was going to end up but after thinking long and hard I decided on taco soup.......I know I know it's 100 degrees outside, but it was the easiest thing I could think of and had everything on hand for :)

Leftover brownies and jelly for dessert

PS to Raesmom, would you please send over some brownies? Yum!

Ascherer, enjoy your break from cooking!

I think tonight DW is having hot dogs on the grill and I will have a burger. Potato salad if I get it together in time. :p Plan B is cauliflower gratin and baked Italian sausage. I got a watermelon at Aldi earlier in the week that I finally cut up, so that will be dessert.

Tonight it's shrimp fajitas with veggies and rice using the BOGO shrimp from Food Lion.

raesmom1612 - I hope the "jelly" was good last night. :-) I am sure the brownies were!

Last night ended up being little Caesars pizza instead of the pork steaks and pasta.

Tonight we had the pork steak. It was big enough to cut in half and feed both DH and I while Rae requested pizza. I also had a request from Rae to make "jelly" (Jell-o) and DH requested brownies with walnuts so our oven worked over time tonight.

Tomorrow will definitely be something in the crock pot, my oven needs a break!!

    We had tacos tonight

Tonight is meatloaf, mashed potatoes and peas. Tonight is also the last night I have to cook for 3 weeks. The first two weeks, the hotel will feed me snacks during the happy hour. You have to love a hotel that feeds you twice a day. Plus, I will have a full kitchen and can make some Mac&cheese over the weekends. The third week I move to a different hotel that only gives me something if I pay for it. I am not even sure I will get a fridge/microwave in the room there. It will be a busy trip just long.

Both of your menus sound good! I'm starting to think it's time to give up on my tomato plants this year and hit the farmers' market instead.

The Chinese chicken salad I mentioned earlier in the week did not happen, but we did have a version of it last night with shrimp instead. Very tasty even if I did forget the sugar snap peas.

Since I cooked extra shrimp, I think tonight we'll have them with Caesar salad and maybe garlic bread. I have some plums and nectarines that I need to use, and they are either going to become coffee cake or noodle kugel.
