Gator Girll -- wow! My knee was a cakewalk in comparison! I'm so glad you are not in pain and that the brace is gone. Those things are miserable, especially in the heat. Your DH sounds wonderful. I was also fortunate that my DW was there for me.

Dinner tonight I think is going to be homemade pizza with a side salad.

Faye - I was thinking about the FL delivery and also about joining one of these produce box groups that deliver.

JDOUGLAS - Nope, not the knee. The surgery was fairly significant to repair damage that was caused by a metal-on-metal hip replacement I had 11 years ago. Required bone grafts, moving muscles from other parts of my body to replace the muscles and ligaments that had been stripped away from the metal shards, lots of metal debris in my body and blood system. Good news is I have no pain and the body brace I had to wear for a couple of months is gone!

DH has learned more than he ever wanted to know about grocery shopping and laundry! I'm still working on getting him to remember to use the coupons I give him. 😄

No crab legs here. I love them, but am seriously allergic to them.

Gator Girll, I'm betting it's your right knee that you had surgery on? My deepest condolences, and I totally get it. I shattered mine about 6 years ago, and it was 6 months before I could drive. There is a big difference between someone shopping for you and being able to do it yourself! I'm glad you enjoyed your outing! I always did even if it did involve a visit to PT. :)

Last night we had a sort of a white baked ziti pasta concoction made with spinach, ricotta, shallots, and some of the Alouette garlic & herb cheese spread on sale at HT right now. I had some leftover cooked bacon that I chopped up and added to it, topped with grated parm, and baked for about 20 minutes or so just to top brown it and warm it a little more.

Tonight is the leftover pasta and breaded chicken cutlets cut into sticks because the chicken is still pretty frozen. Oatmeal cookies for dessert.

Same as Faye :). Our sides are going to be grilled zucchini and a baguette though.

HT in Wilson was having rib day. Their cooked ribs were 4.97 a package. I got ribs and baked chicken since I had the 10 off 50 coupon.

Gator Girll - Wow - that really is a long recovery. How much longer until you can drive again? I'm happy for you and your full pantry! You could always try the Food lion delivery service as well. The first order is supposed to be delivered for free.

And make sure you bring some of that enchilada pie when you come over for the crab legs! lol

  • Gator Girll Jul 16, 2016

Faye - I'll be right there! I'm a sucker for crab legs. I made an "enchilada" pie with a corn bread crust that we'll have tonight with a side of black beans. Sunday night will be a pork loin (and I may bake some apples along with it), and some sautéed yellow squash with onions.

I'm so excited to have a full pantry right now! I still can't drive following my surgery in May so I have to rely on DH to either do the shopping or take me to the store. He took me on Thursday following my PT appointment and I went absolutely nuts. I was soooo happy.

If I get by Food Lion today, we are having Snow Crab legs. Sides of sweet corn and spinach salad.
