So we drove and made it into buffalo at 5am today!! Boy am I beat. I am super excited and almost full of energy bc this is the first father's day that I get to spend with my dad in over 10 years!! He has No idea that I am here (they are expecting me to fly in on Tuesday lol) so I made sure he would be home all day and we are going to stop at the cemetery to lay flowers for my FIL and then on our way to see my dad. I can't wait for him to meet baby ziti!! All that said, my parents are doing hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill and my MIL is doing bbq ribs on the grill so dinner tonight will be all of the above lol. I love coming home to some goooooooood cooking and lots of quality time with family. I'll make sure to give my dad an extra tight squeeze today:)

Tonight we are taking my dad out to dinner. Maybe we'll talk him into a little froyo for dessert!

I am also batch cooking chicken breasts in the slow cooker today for the week ahead so I have lots of healthy, readily available protein for lunches and dinners.

Dr D - thanks for the recipe! YUM!!

Jdouglas and Nanee Lion - thank you for the feedback on the endless yard sale.

And to those of you who have lost your dads, my heart goes out to you. Sending you all big hugs. Hopefully you have some wonderful memories to help get you through the day.

Nanee Lion, we did not buy anything, but we did find some flea market type stores which I love to poke around in that are open year round, so it was a successful trip. It was hot, and I was surprised that none of these markets had A/C. We may wait a while before our next trip.

DrD, thanks for the recipe for the oreo truffles! They sound really good! :)

Ascherer, sending good thoughts and hugs to you this Fathers' Day. It is my first since my Dad passed. I knew it would be hard, but I wasn't prepared for quite how hard.

With another day of beautiful weather, I'm thinking something on the grill. Last night we had burgers with a side salad (those Campari tomatoes at HT are awesome!). Not sure exactly what dinner will be tonight, but it will be something I got on sale from the freezer, Maybe beef kabobs since I have lots of veg for them.

Happy Sunday everyone. Enjoy the nice weather. And if you still have your Dad, hug him extra tight today. :)

Dinner Saturday night was at a Knight's of Columbus event (DH). Dinner tonight is at my FIL's house (I think). My DH got a card from our cat and some of the fruits of my time on SB ($60 in gift cards).

Happy Father's Day to Dads everywhere - to our Daddies that are with us and our Daddies that have gone before us. To the Dads/Men that are part-time parents, mentors, and role model to kids that don't have Dads in their lives. Your guidance and strength is what helps us navigate the rough waters of our lives. We thank you. We love you. I miss you.

This is not the recipe w/pudding and Cool Whip, but a "I only make at holiday time" treat:

http://allrecipes.com/recipe/127491/easy-oreo-truffles/Because Oreos come in flavors, you can also make Peanut Butter truffles, Mint truffles, etc.

jdouglas13 , we were wiped out yesterday too, the heat was terrible. Did you find some good buys and which towns did you visit? We went to Four Oaks area this time and it was not as busy as Selma area was last year. A little disappointed but the guys wanted to venture to a different area. Got a few deals but actually did not spend much. Found a few items for my nursing home project. Hope you found some good deals.

Your veg saute sounds delicious. We got home late from the Endless Yard Sale and then a stop at HT where I saved more than I spent!! :) Having said that, we are a little wiped out, so dinner is going to be either a burger on the grill or a tuna sandwich, whichever is easiest.

While I was at HT, I did take advantage of the weekend evic I got for Oreo cookies. I am not a fan, but I have enjoyed the crushed up as a crust for a dessert involving pudding and Cool Whip (I think).

If anyone knows what I'm talking about and has a good recipe, please share! Thanks :)
