Whole Foods had St. Louis ribs on sale for $3.99/lb, so DW and I picked some up yesterday to have tonight. This is the first time I can recall doing ribs that weren't baby back. I made a rub for them, and am getting ready to make a BBQ sauce as soon as the ginger defrosts enough for me to shred it. Cole slaw would have been a great side had I thought about it, but I didn't, so it's rice and broccoli.

Last night I had a cook free evening! Since we were in Apex, we went to fish & chips for dinner at Skippy's Fish Fry. Always so good there.

ascherer - That's always a good rule of thumb to use when deciding where to eat - find out where the locals go. Glad it was so good. And I think the rain may be stopping on Tuesday according to Greg and the gang. I'm about to take a walk in the drizzle because my gym is closed today. lol

Brownies just came out of the oven here. I ran out of eggs (yikes! - going to Walgreens today to get them on sale) - so I used applesauce instead. They are moist and delicious and I don't miss the eggs at all! They do fall apart pretty easily though since they don't have the egg binder. But the taste does not suffer.

One of the girls and I made baked wontons filled with various yumminess today for lunch. I'll post the photos and details on the Monday meal plan. They were great and so easy! They are my new go-to for appetizers and quick and fun snacks as well.

We had dinner at King's Crab Shack & Oyster Bar around the corner from the hotel in Winston Salem. It was a little hole in the wall kind of place but had great food and service. I knew it was going to be good when the lady at the front desk of the hotel said that is where the locals eat.

Happy weekend everyone. Maybe one day the rain will stop.

Frugal20 - aren't the sweet Hawaiian rolls delicious?! I love just about anything on them.

I just got back from a graduation party and had some yummy sushi there for dinner. Sunday night we are having Japanese take out - sushi for me again! LOL

Put a pork bu** in the slow cooker last night. Had BBQ sandwiches and chips for lunch (buns 0.69 at Aldi).

For tonight, more BBQ with green beans/almonds, homemade m&c from the freezer, and sweet Hawaiian rolls (Aldi).
