Tonight is gourmet buffet. There are leftovers I brought home from Cheraw and leftovers from last week.

Faye, what time is dinner on Sunday? Can I snag an invite if I bring dessert? J/K ;) Mushroom stuffing - yum!

Ascherer, I am so glad you have a large extended family! Your Christmas dinner with them sounds wonderful. That's something I was always a bit jealous about when I was a kid. Both my parents were only children, so we didn't have aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.

Dinner tonight is still undecided. Yes, I know it's 7:30 already. I'm leaning towards chicken sandwiches on rye bread. I was going to make soup, but I think I'll just heat some canned soup up for DW to have with her sandwich.

ascherer - yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum! Your Christmas meal with your family and your dip all sounds amazing! Sounds like you have had a lovely day!

I have been craving turkey and stuffing so we are having a turkey breast, stuffing (with tons of sauteed mushrooms!), steamed carrots and brownies for dinner Sunday night.

Today was my extended family Christmas in Cheraw, SC. There was ham, turkey, dressing, rice, gravy, black eyed peas, butter beans, peas, turnips, corn casserole, sweet potato casserole, sweet potato "bread", biscuits, sourdough bread, and I am sure I forgot something. I won't even try to post all of the desserts. They took up as much room as the main course dishes. Tonight is our street's Christmas party. I am taking Mississippi Sin (a hot cheese dip that really is a sin) with scoops. I'm not sure I am going to be able to eat again anytime soon.

rwsmith62 - your chowder sounds great! So does the crusy bread. :-)

  • rwsmith62 Dec 19, 2015

That would be crusty bread. ;)

I think we're having corn and potato chowder with either ham sandwiches or a nice crusy bread.

Breakfast for dinner is on the menu tonight. Eggs, turkey bacon, rye toast, fruit. Going to enjoy some nice warm veggie soup for lunch today.
