Jdouglas - how was your pork chop cabbage creation? Did it live up to your expectations?

We had the veggie soup I made last night and the girls had sandwiches as well.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Jdouglas - Sounds good to me :)

Raesmom - Wow! That's a lot of yams

Tonight the winner is .......spaghetti !!!

Raesmom, the baked ziti was good, and last night we had ravioli with the leftover sauce.

It's looking like I have to cook tonight. The recent mention of braised cabbage has had me craving the cabbage one makes with corned beef and cabbage for St. Patty's Day, but minus the corned beef as I am REALLY not a fan of it. I'm going to attempt a one-pot concoction with bone-in pork chops, green cabbage, onions, carrots, and a few potatoes, along with some chicken stock and maybe a bit of crumbled bacon. I'm hoping it will come somewhat close to what I'm envisioning.

If anyone has any suggestions -- I'd love to hear them!

Thanks observant. Rae had a fun and busy Halloween :) The yams are for our annual Thanksgiving community day at church.....we usually feed upwards of 200-250 ppl. Its on Nov 15th immediately after 11:00am service.

    Raesmom1612- I hope Rae had a great Halloween !
When did you say you were making the sweet potato dish ??
Darn I missed the banana cream pie !
Tonight - bbq chicken , au gratin or baked potatoes and whatever green veggie DH finds at Kroger after work ( he will probably get asparagus and/or broccoli ).

Jdouglas I think I saw you mention baked ziti a few days ago so of course.....i am following your lead lol I was going to do just a simple spaghetti and meat sauce but I have everything for the ziti so why not. We ordered some cookies from one of the kids that was selling them for school (honey oatmeal raisin) so ill pop some of those in the oven and the ziti will be served with salad and garlic bread. Hope every had a safe and happy Halloween!!

ThomasG - you had me at banana cream pie! Your wife made a great dinner tonight - the caravan is coming your way....

I am 2 for 3 today. Muffins and veggie soup are made. The quiche was a no-go again tonight because nobody wanted to wait for it to cook since we got home later than expected. Instead, I made mushroom and swiss omelets - basically the same thing and much faster.
