    Happy Birthday Lindabates!!!

Jdouglas you must be in my brain. I have been craving lasagna since Friday but since yesterday was laundry day I didn't get to make it but I did pick up the rest of the ingredients I needed and just got started on it about 20 mins ago. Peanut butter cookies for dessert and lasagna with be served with a side salad (eggs, bacon, onions, mushrooms, banana peppers and MAYBE pomegranate??) and garlic bread. I'll be in heaven for dinner tonight.

Have fun with the daughters and their boyfriends twintedheads!! You are very brave. Tell them Rae and I say hello :)

    ThomasG potato soup??? Mmmmmmmmm

Faye you know if you need a taste tester for those pumpkin muffins I'm sure Rae and I would be available for ya ;)

Good luck Twinredheads! That's a lot of food with 4 teens. Sounds delicious. How do you make your Spanish rice? I haven't had that in forever.

    Happy belated birthday Lindabates! :)

Great buy on the pumpkin last year, Faye. I'll have to pick some up from Aldi's the next time I'm in the neighborhood.

So I never had this happen before. I roasted one of the HT sale chickens last night, and when I went to get it out of the pan, the whole bird stuck to the pan, split in two and fell apart. Glad I wasn't going for a nice presentation! On the plus side, the drippings that made it stick made for a really good gravy. Homemade stuffing on the side. Veg, well.... ;)

Tonight -- lasagna? Stuffed shells? Leftover chicken? Decisions, decisions.

Well BOTH my teen daughters (turn 16 next month) now have boyfriends who are spending the day over here, so, I'm going to try and make enough beef tacos for 2 teen boys, 2 teen girls and my DH. Served with chips and fresh guacamole and Spanish rice on the side. Wish me luck!

Lindabates - Happy Birthday!! I hope you had a nice day and that your birthday breakfast is delicious!

ThomasG - Your soup and sandwich combo sounds tasty. I like to have a toppings bar, as well.

My husband is out looking the deer he shot, so supper is waiting for him on the stove, so glad I didn't plan on him taking me out for dinner( today's my birthday) BUT he IS taking me to breakfast tomorrow so I guess that's just as good!

Potato soup with hot ham/turkey/roast beef sandwiches topped with choice of cheeses .
Toppings "bar"(as DW calls it) : tomatoes, onions, lettuce, pickles, etc & condiments if desired (mustard for me ) .

jdouglas13 - it was from CVS clearance last year after the holidays (It was something like 50 cents a can!). I tried Aldi's canned pumpkin last year and thought it was good. For .89, it's worth a try. Enjoy your chicken.
