jdouglas13 - your brownie recipe sound similar to my favorite one !! but mine come out fudgey with the crusty top . My recipe has the ingredients blended in a double boiler ( adding eggs when all else is melted /dissolved) . Recipe calls for frosting/icing but it is way too much so mine go naked .lol

Jdouglas- not yet! We're still looking. Taking our time adding another addition to our family :-)

RFB, did you ever get your new puppy? Forgive my lack of memory. Fortunately, The Princess doesn't seem to mind the fireworks or thunder, unless it's really extreme.

Losltp, your dinner sounds wonderful!! Yum! :)

Faye, the brownie recipe is totally different in ingredients and technique. The new one calls for melting the butter and sugar together at one point to dissolve the sugar, which also results in the shiny, crackly top. The original recipe is very moist and fudge-like. The new one is a bit more cakey, but not overly so.

Faye- yes! Salad night for simplicity in our case! And we had that amazing sour cream and onion chicken salad from 100 days of real food for lunch. My DH had it for the first time and loved it too! We're exhausted... huge party across the street last night. They were surprisingly quiet, but the fireworks in the area went on until after 11pm, and our dog pretty much freaked out the whole time. Nice to have a day to recoup and sleep in :-)

jdouglas13 - what did you do differently with the brownies?

Tonight we are having chicken salad and leftover pasta salad from last night with a tomato and cucumber salad on the side. It's clearly salad night......

RFB - thanks for the details on your CSA box. I would love it, but I think I would have a hard time convincing DW. Enjoy!

    Ascherer, that dinner sounds wonderful!

Raesmom, sounds like you are having a great time with lots of family, food, and love. I hope Baby lets Mama enjoy the feast!

Faye, your dinner sounds yummy too! :) Hope you were able to grill.

Last night for us was a roast chicken with gravy, rice, and salad. Tonight I might turn the leftovers into a recipe I saw for chicken orzo kale soup. I'm selling it to DW by making biscuits to have with. I also made brownies that I promised her from before the wedding, but didn't dare make for fear of not fitting into the dress. The brownies are from my new fave recipe. We both like them even better than the ones I've made for years, and thought could not be improved upon.

Ascherer- that dinner sounds delicious! Especially the bacon part :-)

Tonight we're doing a big taco salad using ground beef from the Farmers Market with a cucumber salad on the side or on top, depending on how it tastes!

It was supposed to be Saturday dinner but I was running late like normal. So tonight is grilled bacon wrapped scollops, steak and corn. I think butter beans are going to be the veggie.
