    Tonight we had spaghetti with sauteed veggies on it and a cucumber and tomato salad using my aunt's delicious homegrown cukes. Sooooooo good!

    Thanks so much everyone for the love, hugs, and words of comfort -- all of which I soaked in and deeply appreciated. My Mom's service was in her garden and actually quite lovely. I think she would have approved.

    Dinner tonight, after being in a sugar coma last night AND this morning after a huge breakfast where I played the pancake short order cook for our group of 20-something kiddos, is going to be delightfully easy: take out fish and chips. Yay! LOL. And I hid some key lime pie for my dessert! :)

    Tonight is left over roasted pork loin and green beans. I will make either oven roasted potatoes or mashed potatoes to go with it. Maybe a side salad and watermelon or peaches (if I make it to the store).

    RFB - thanks for the info. I imagine they are higher in price as well. And I am with you on the thick out membrane. lol

    Faye- they actually were delicious! Very rich. But, 2 reasons why I won't buy them again. First, the outer membrane is thicker and it kind of grossed me out lol! And second, they are MUCH higher in cholesterol. But, they are coveted among chefs, and now I know why!

    Excited about another week using mostly farmers market meat/veggies. Last week we actually ended up going under budget... I know, shocking with all the great stuff we got.

    Yesterday, I got a chicken, some beef short ribs, pork chops, chicken eggs... and I even have 2 sirloins still left from last week. Plus some fruits and veggies. I think I'll do a roast chicken tonight with zucchini noodles.

    jdouglas13 - I hope everything went well today. Like the rest of the awesome folks posting here, I am sending many hugs to you. At least you had come comfort food to enjoy tonight.

    We met some out of town family in Chapel Hill today for lunch at Top of the Hill (and it was very good!). After lunch, my dad wanted to go by Mama Dips and pick up some fried chicken for his dinner tonight. The girls were not going to let me out of there without getting some for them as well so....... we had fried chicken from Mama Dips, corn on the cob from HT, cucumbers from my aunts garden with some tomatoes for dinner. It was delicious! Anybody here ever eaten there? I bet their green beans are amazing.
