Thanks so much for EVERYONE'S good wishes and congratulations!! I was so touched to read them all. We just got back this afternoon from our wedding weekend, which was beyond our wildest dreams and expectations. A beautiful sunset, great company, and a heartfelt ceremony. My now official DW and I dressed up in our fancy wedding clothes and got lots of pics to cherish.

Granof20, I just have to say I am honored and tickled that you had mac & cheese in our honor! LOL! We are having it for dinner tonight :)

    ASCHERER
How awful your DH had to get up on the roof in the heat !
Cleaning gutters is one of those awful have to do chores made worse by the high temperatures we are having .
RFB - I will be on the lookout for the white sweet potatoes ! Thanks !!

Today We grilled steaks and shrimp .
sides were corn , green beans, cole slaw , raw veggie tray ( some of these got grilled too)
dessert was pineapple/peach upside down cake ( kids "made" it for the daddies wink- wink )

Granoftwenty- good to know, can't wait to try it! And I found some at a stand in Wake Forest. It's the main road, off Capital (a bit down from Aldi and Walmart). They were set up Saturday morning. I thought the inside would be purple, but no, just the skin. The inside was white. Delicious, either way!

Granoftwenty - I do appreciate the offer but decided to stick close to home today. DH was cleaning the roof and gutters because of a nastygram from our HOA saying it had to be done today. I just wanted to make sure he didn't die of heat stroke or falling off the roof. I think I will take him out to dinner.

Congratulations to the newly married couple.

Basically we reheated the ham slices from a spiral ham on the grill .
We lost power one night and did this to "thaw" the ham .
Once we found out how good it was ta-da new "recipe" !!
Where did you get purple sweet potatoes ?? I would be interested in trying those .
I love white ones but they are extremely hard to find in this part of the State .

ASHERE - your plate got cold ! LOL

Granoftwenty- I've never thought to grill ham steaks. Sounds delicious!

Tonight we had some turkey chili, grilled brioche bread (from the Farmers Market) and a purple and white sweet potato.

    LUCKY YOU , Faye !
Give my best to the newlyweds !

ASHERER - 6 to 7 - if the storms are not too bad we can still grill on the covered patio .

Granoftwenty - your mac and cheese comment is hilarious!

I am having dinner at the coast tonight with the newly married couple after going to the lovely wedding mentioned below. :-)
