Thank you all. My pork dinner has been moved to tomorrow. I slept today away which is not a bad thing. Thomasg - I think a peach cobbler would be a great addition to my pork dinner.

Tomato/basil/olive sauce over angel hair pasta. Kids had open faced crab melts due to their dislike of the bulk of the sauce ingredients :)

We're going easy tonight too (and enjoying a 4-day staycation!) Broccoli and Leek Fried Rice.

Ascherer, HT has whole watermelons for $3.99. HT also has country style Boston but ribs on sale for $1.69. Not a whole lot of pork advertised this week. Mostly burgers and some steak.

Dinner tonight is going to be the burgers on the grill we had planned to have last night, smashed red potatoes, and some grilled yellow squash and zucchini. I also defrosted a steak yesterday which I had planned for tonight. I may grill it while the burgers are on and turn it into steak salad for tomorrow when the heat starts to go back up. Tonight is the last night of CHEESECAKE for dessert. ;) It was yummy!

Ascherer-I glad you all were able to celebrate your dads life with great memories. Those memories will help keep him alive.

I think Aldi has a good price on watermelon this week. Can't remember how much. Also WalMart has some big ones for $4, don't know if that's a good price or not, we really don't do watermelon.

Yesterdays dinner was oven baked chicken drumsticks with Spanish rice and beans. Tonight I'm thinking take out fake out using yakisoba noodles, a bag of stir fry veggies, and a teriyaki flavored pork loin chopped up in there too.

YOU have been in my thoughts and prayers !
A devoted spouse makes the bad times easier and the good times GREAT .
IF you get the Food Lion weekly email there was a $1 off $5 meat coupon good thru Tuesday. Pork ribs are on sale $2.99/lb and center cut pork chops $3.99 /lb. The stores were a little skimpy Friday - hope they restocked by now .

Myself and my family went to cookouts Friday and Saturday night therefore I really don't want to look at any cooked food! So for dinner today we shall be eating rabbit food. A salad with fresh veggies from the State Farmers Market a side of fresh peaches someone has given us and something else don't know what just yet! Nothing that requires cooking though

Thank you Ladies. He was an incredible man. But as my Momma said, it is time to just put one foot in front of the other and keep moving. As long as the tears and smiles/laughs are some what close to even, I will do what Momma said. Her Momma told her that when Momma's Daddy died.

I have to state how wonderful my DH is. He traveled almost 1000 miles in one week to make sure I was in the safest place I could be - with him. I got lucky when he decided he wanted me to be his bride.

Today I will grocery shop and cook dinner for DH and myself. Anyone know of a good deal on pork? I have tomatoes and cukes from Momma's garden to add to dinner. I would really love a watermelon for dessert. Does anyone have watermelon at a decent price? I haven't had time to read the whole blog. Just stopped to read What's for dinner when I could.
