Posted May 24, 2014

Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like. If you need some inspiration for your own dinner tonight, this may give you some helpful ideas.

ascherer~Glad you were finally able to have some baked ziti. Let us know how it goes once you defrost and eat. I'm thinking some chicken thighs in the oven with mashed potatoes and veggies. Gotta pick up some burgers (if there are any left) and a few other things at the store today to get ready for tomorrow. Be safe and have a great Memorial Day everyone!! Thank you to those who have served in the past, present and future including my hubby :)

It was finally cool enough in the house for me to make the baked ziti. It was good and I learned a few lessons that will make the next one even better. Since I made a whole recipe for us, we will be eating it for a few days. I am going to try to freeze some in individual servings and see how it turns out.

Tonight we had burgers stuffed with cheddar cheese and jalepenos (delicious! !), corn on cob, Caesar salad, and fruit salad.

RFB - I bought the Applegate Spanish Andouille flavor chicken sausages and I can't wait to try them. I am thinking of making it on some kabobs with peppers, mushrooms and onions. I am sure they would be great in paella, but it's grilling time so that's how those babies are getting cooked this week! lol

The organic deli turkey sounds great.

Faye- I tell him often that he's one lucky man lol! :-)

And I'd be interested in hearing how the Applegate chicken sausage is! So excited as HT is carrying more of that brand (they had organic deli turkey, etc. in the deli, that I was able to use a Q for yesterday!)

RFB - that is so good of you to still cook these fabulous dinners for your husband even though you can't eat them!

Not sure yet about tonight but tomorrow we are grilling with my dad and we are having turkey burgers, Applegate chicken sausages and 97% fat free Hebrew National franks, pasta salad, watermelon, fresh corn and strawberry shortcake for dessert. Yum. :-)

Still going strong on my eating plan, but also cooking for my DH... so tonight I'm making him Turkey Meatball Asparagus Soup (had most from past sales, except asparagus). Tomorrow is a Pan Fried Steak infused with rosemary, some alexia potatoes (past sale) and a salad. And then on Monday (I'm taking the day off!!) and we're going to have organic hot dogs and blue cheese burgers on the grill, organic baked beans, and elote (Mexican corn on the cob)... can't wait!!!
