If you need some inspiration for your own dinner tonight, this may give you some helpful ideas for what to make with all the great deals you have bought on sale recently.

What's on your menu tonight?


Beef and vegetable soup on this cool Fall day! (using BOGO stew meat from HT on sale through 9/24)

Crusty bread


Spinach and cheese enchiladas topped with light sour cream, romaine lettuce and chopped tomatoes

Mahatma rice

Pear slices


French dip sandwiches with using boneless eye of round on sale at Lowes Foods for $3 through 9/24. The Slow Roasted Beef recipe I am using for the eye of round roast is on

Sweet potato fries

Apple slices


Leftover eye of round served on rice

Sugar snap peas



Pasta alfredo

Broccoli spears (Green Giant boxed veggies from HT sale last week)

Garlic bread

    Roasted chicken breasts with mushrooms, green beans (hoping they are still good), and baked or roasted sweet potatoes. I'm making extra chicken to reincarnate into something later this week.

    Lasta-this is my very favorite stir fry sauce, and it's really easy!

    1/2 cup soy sauce
    2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
    2 tablespoons Briannas Blush Wine Vinaigrette (or substitute 2 teaspoons strawberry jam!)
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Seasonings as desired (I like to add my favorite Parisien from Penzeys)
    2 tablespoons cilantro, rough chopped- to top it all off at the end.

    Oh no. I'm fairy adventurous, but snake of any kind will only ever pass my lips if I'm starving, or if it would mean life or death of someone....ewwwwwwwww

    Lasata - slice your steak very thinly and marinate it in teriyaki sauce with a little ginger and garlic (or use Hoisen sauce). When ready to stir fry, let the marinade drip off the meat, but reserve the marinade for the sauce. Bok choy is great in a stir fry. Clean it well and slice it, including the stems. Then stir fry with the rest of the veggies you are cooking.

    I put stew beef in crockpot with McCormick hearty beef stew mix before I left for work. Will fix either mashed potatoes or egg noodles to go with it tonight.

    Tonight it is smoked sausage, sauerkraut with apples, and hash brown potatoes.

    I am trying to step out of my comfort zone when it comes to cooking and so I decided I would try a steak stir fry but I am not sure what would be the best marinade for it. Also I bought bok Choy..any recommendations on how to use that in my stir fry. Thanks for any help

    Lol! That's funny, I just saw an episode of Chopped last night using actual rattlesnake (creepy!)... your pasta sounds much better! :-)
