    Great advice, ascherer. Thank you.

RFB - It was supposed to be fixed on Thursday but Hurricane Arthur happened and there is no garage at Momma's. So it was rescheduled for Wednesday. In less than a week it went from being a small chip to being a huge crack. I drove the car for the first time today and the crack really bothered me. I am very gratefully it will be fixed soon.

Faye - I am thankful for all the time I had spent with Momma and Daddy over the past few years but it wasn't enough. Even being there less than two weeks before in no way prepared me for this. Give your Dad a hug and kiss for me. Tell your oldest to keep quizzing him. Get her to ask him for stories from your childhood and his. Ask how he met your Mother. Tell your youngest to write it all down or record it. These are memories that will last for a life time.

    Faye- thank you!!

Jdouglas- I know... back in CA, tri tip was the cheapest cut of meat :-)

Ascherer- wow, glad you're bringing your car in soon... amazing how cracks like that can travel!

Nanee Lion - he does live near me but he had the surgery done at the orthopedic practice my brother works for. My brother has little kids and no downstairs bedrooms so he can't stay at their house safely to recover with them running around and no clearance to walk up stairs yet. We are getting lots of quality time with him in the hotel, though. My oldest is quizzing him about his whole life right now and he loves it. After reading Ascherer's sad news, I am even more grateful to have this time to help him. (sending another round of hugs Ascherer)

twinredheads - those enchiladas sounds awesome! Much better than the Jimmy Johns subs we had tonight. lol

Chicken verde enchiladas using the rest of the grilled chicken from the 4th and a side salad with lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes all from our garden :)

Everyone's dinners sound so good! I love all the home grown veggies. If anyone ever has an overabundance, just give me a shout! My garden consists of just a few herbs at this point since the heat made the lettuce bolt.

Raesmom, feel free to start a pasta epidemic any time! Tomorrow is pasta carbonara. It has been too long. ;)

RFB, best wishes for a happy birthday to your husband! Whole Foods sometimes has tri-tip too, but it is crazy expensive. Too pricey for our budget. I loved when we lived in California and grilled tri-tip all the time.

Faye, glad to hear your Dad is hanging in. You all must be getting cabin fever with no car.

Ascherer, that's a great idea about using the grocery cart for a walker. I use it myself rather than my cane in the grocery store. Makes it much easier to get around when I have to walk more than a short distance.

Hope your Dad is better soon. I thought he lived near you. Sorry about your car but maybe they will not charge you tooooo much. No coupons for that probably.

Hope you alll are home and safe soon. God Bless You!
