jdouglas13 - sounds like you had a lot of fun on your adventure. Krispy Kreme....yum! And the lamp sounds awesome.

We changed our menu to turkey sandwiches, Green Giant cheesy rice broccoli and the last of the fresh pineapple I cut last night. Whew - crazy day with sick kid, dental appointment, school play, evening class for non-sick kid in Cary and visit with my dad. Glad to have an easy and yummy dinner.

Beef stew (had beef frozen from a prior sale) in the crockpot with lots of mushrooms, pearl onions, carrots, green beans; mashed potatoes on the side. I am attempting my first poundcake today to make strawberry shortcake. I stumbled upon the Knightdale Aldi's completely by accident over the weekend and bought strawberries for $1.19/lb.

We also found a Krispy Crème doughnuts - yay!!, a Lowes Home Improvement, and a kind of cool thrift/consignment/old stuff/antiquey kind of store, and bought a lamp that I've been hunting for forever for $19.99. I had to dig out the big guns reading glasses to make sure I read that tag right because I thought for sure it must be $119. It was a fun day. :)

Carelesswhisper- awesome! We're having them tomorrow, as well, with the leftover BBQ pork ribs!

RFB, that sounds like a great idea. There will probably be enough for tomorrow also. Tomorrow I will try the twice baked potatoes.

Raesmom- I know... it's crazy driving out there!

JTLNSW- that sounds delicious- love getting shrimp on sale too.

Faye- I've not tried that variety- would love to know what you think of it!

Carelesswhisper- yum! You should try using the leftovers in twice baked potatoes some time :-)

And for us... I stopped by HT and had no idea what to make and found some country pork ribs on sale. I bought an onion and had some BBQ sauce (Sweet Baby Ray's) from past sale. Will have those (in the crock pot now) with the free mashed potatoes from a few weeks ago and alexia frozen peas cheap w/the coupon from Sunday at HT.

Linguini pasta and shrimp....finally grabbed the shrimp that was on sale, and the pasta at HT. Probably throw in a few veggies for color.
