GJan1 - thank you so much for the feedback. I did not see it until late last night when we got back but the Wright Bros memorial was still very interesting, even though the visitors center was closed. The talk was entertaining and the monuments were neat to see. We ended up going to Millers seafood in Nags Head and then......Duck Donuts!! It was my first time at Duck and it was very good. Next time we will try Black Pelican. Thank you for the recommendation!

Enjoy your trip, Faye! We have seen to little of NC in all the time we've lived here. Hopefully, we can change that one of these days if DW is feeling better.

I was thinking about a burger tonight, and with the thunder I hear rumbling, it probably won't be outside on the grill. So, burgers in the cast iron frying pan, mini gnocchi that I got a while back at Walmart with a garlic parsley butter, and fresh green beans ,which I wish I could say are from my garden, but are from HT.

Hoping to get to HT tomorrow to get one of the $1.99 watermelons and some ground chuck that's on sale.

I would love to see the Wright Brothers Memorial. I've never been to Kill Devil Hills. Enjoy Faye! Hubby is home tonight (no poker) but it's way too hot to cook. Hubby wants Little Caesars Pizza but I want Subway (he doesn't like Subway).

OOPS! The Wright Brothers Memorial Visitor Center is closed until 2018 for renovation. The Website says there is a small tent with bookstore items and small display of posters. Please check out their site before going.

If they are having the live presentation at the Wright Brothers Memorial, it is worthwhile.

Faye - Have a wonderful time at the Outer Banks.
I recommend the Black Pelican at Kitty Hawk. I sent you an email about it. This restaurant was a life saving station and the place where Orville and Wilbur Wright sent their telegram of their success.
The food is delicious and the history goes with your trip to the Wright Brother's Memorial. This is also a Guy Fieri place from Diners, Drive-in's and Dives.
    The risotto is fabulous.

Once again, I have no idea where we are eating. I think we are heading to Kill Devil Hills this afternoon and will have dinner on the water somewhere after a trip to the Wright Bros. museum. Elizabeth City is so quiet that we were the ONLY people eating dinner in the restaurant last night. Or maybe that was an indication that we should have gone somewhere else.... lol

Have a wonderful Friday, everyone! :-)
