ascherer - that "bbq" sauce sounds like a great combo. You clearly had a good mentor helping you out so I am sure it will be fabulous.

coupon4me - I bet your eggplant bruschetta is really healthy and delicious.

Tonight is Aunt Edna's Barbecue Turkey. Aunt Edna was my Momma's Aunt. This is the first time I have ever made it (Momma is supervising) but I remember loving it when I was younger. Calling it a Barbecue is very misleading. The sauce is Worcestershire sauce, white vinegar, sauteed onions, sugar and black pepper. It is in the crock pot now and smells so good. Not sure about the sides as of now. I'll figure that out later.

Yum twinrwdheads! That is my kind of dinner - sounds delicious!
We didn't put thebeef in the oven in time for a reasonable dinner time so that is all back on for tonight with the eggplant bruschetta. So last night we had tuna wraps with the freebie/ almost green tuna at HT last week with steamed broccoli and some leftover mac and cheese.
    TGIF!

Good morning everyone! Tonight I am having a spinach salad with Cajun shrimp and balsamic dressing. The rest of the gang is having homemade spinach, black olive, and mushroom pizza.

lindabates - good luck on the freezer organization! And your potato bowls sound delish.

twinredheads - Your fiesta sounds mucho bueno (my apologies to those who speak Spanish fluently as I probably just totally messed that up! lol). Hopefully you have a little chicken-less margarita on the menu as well. ;-)

Speaking of adult beverages, has anyone here ever tried mead (also spelled meade)? It's a fermented honey drink and there is a distillery in Durham offering a great Groupon deal for a tour, tasting and free glasses for only $7 for 2 people. We are doing it this weekend and I wondered if anyone has tasted mead before and what you thought about it.

Tonight I'm making my own version of KFC mashed potato bowls. This weekend I plan to organize my freezer and hopefully will feel like batch cooking some meals.

Grilled margarita chicken, cilantro lime rice, chips and salsa, green salad
