Gosh, I do want some of that cake Nanny....

Yes - Faye - it is simple...but honestly I didn't follow a specific recipe to the t... I kind of looked online and used what I had. This one however, was my guide as I liked the idea of using evaporated know we all have cheap cans of those around!! It says butter chicken....but tikka masala is from the Indian version of Butter chicken. While googling I also got a slight history lesson the dish!

We're having Caesar salad, for sure, to use up the last of the dressing I made. Leftover baked chicken drumsticks. Either baked sweet potato chunks or some kind of pasta/veg concoction.

Nanny113 - happy birthday to the birthday boy/girl! That peanut butter cake looks amazing!

meredith88 - I am the same way with grilled cheese. I like all sorts of things on mine - tomatoes, avocados, onions, turkey... The teens like buttered bread with cheese and nothing else. lol

coupon4me - your Chicken Tikka Masala in the slow cooker sounds great! I looked up a slow cooker recipe because it sounded so good. Is yours anything like this one, which looks pretty easy?:

It's birthday night at our house so we are having Tequila Marinated Chicken Fajitas with Refried Beans (got my breasts at HT in the butcher, tortillas were B1G1, and beans were on sale, I have Newman's Own Salsa from a weekend deal a couple of weekends ago plus plenty of cheese from recent HT sales). Dessert is a bit of a splurge. It is going to be a Peanut Butter Caramel No-Bake Ice Box Cake. You can find the recipe at this link: and I sure hope it is good!

Tonight we are keeping it simple and having grilled cheese. Of course anything is fair game on a grilled cheese in our house. I got some lunch meat out of the freezer and there's avocado, eggs, guava paste, bacon, tomatoes, and who knows what else. So we'll see what ends up on our sandwiches :-) Caesar salad and grapes on the side.
