Everything sounds usual !! For me......
It's homemade chicken salad with ice cream for dessert....

Twinredheads and Jdouglas - Thanks so much for sharing your recipes :-)

ThomasG - awww, I'm not laughing. :) Please forgive my lazy way of typing, I mean shorthand. EVOO is indeed extra virgin olive oil. You can mix it right into the pesto before you use it. Before you store any leftovers, add another thin layer of EVOO on top.

I'm so glad everyone likes the pesto recipe such as it is! Enjoy! :)

Granoftwenty, glad to hear your damage was not extensive. I know you must be tired of repairmen. They are the ones that woke me up this morning at o'dark thirty to quote Faye.

Nakabi, your whole menu sounds amazing (as always), but you really got me with the lobsters.... yum.

I was lazy this afternoon after an unexpectedly EARLY morning, so I think DW might make us sandwiches for dinner. I'll be making a cake.

    TWINREDHEADS - Thank You !
I agree with GRANOFTWENTY- we will try that when we have the the grandchildren !

A friend shared one with DW that was a Mexican bake with tater tots and cheese on top .
It was OK - the tater tots seemed out of place with the mexican flavors
I think tortilla chips broken over it would have been better

GranOFTwenty - Well I hope your house is all fixed up soon! Going back and forth does not sounds like any fun.

Faye - We are OK - we had some storm damage and busted pipes at the house in the summer- DH decide to have extra stuff done since the workmen were there anyway so we had to move the lake for a few weeks ( back and forth drive me crazy especially when schools started and I had after school carpool ) .W came to Topsail to check the cottage after all the rain the last 2 weeks . Since we have such nice weather today ,I decided to go ahead and get the place cleaned and freshened .
My iced tea glass is empty and laundry need to be folded -
Thank You everyone for ALL you SHARE .

TWINREDHEADS - Thank you for the recipe - I will add that to my recipe list for one of our sleepover weekends with the "grands" .

GranOFTwenty - I must have missed something that happened to your house, but I am glad the house and you are ok!

Twinredheads- omgoodness, that sounds delicious! And I'd skip the veggies in this case, too :)

  • GranOFTwenty Oct 9, 2015

Tonight - Nothing planned right now - DH did request clam chowder . I washing/ironing curtains and bedding, airing rooms , beating and sunning rugs so dinner will be as easy as I can get by with tonight -
jdouglas13 & Nakabi - Thank You for the pesto recipe and the suggested meal of bowtie pasta, pesto tomatoes and shrimp - that will be this weekend if I get the pesto ingredients !
jdouglas13 - minor yard/driveway damage but structure is OK thank goodness - I am so tired of contractors and repairmen.

The tater tot casserole is extremely simple. Pour a 32 oz bag of frozen tater tots into the crockpot. Brown ground beef or turkey and drain. Add a can of cream of mushroom soup, a 1/2 tsp each of garlic, pepper and salt and 1/4 cup milk. Pour beef mixture on top of tots spreading to cover. Cook on low for 3 hours. Lots of recipes put a cup of shredded cheese on top during the last 1/2 hour of cooking and some mix in a 10 oz bag of frozen veggies but we like to keep it simple :)
