ascherer - Happy Birthday!! I hope you have a wonderful birthday dinner and weekend!

Tonight we had homemade veggie pizzas using the Mama Mary's pre-made crusts. I topped them with sauteed green peppers, onions & mushrooms and black olives, mozzarella, lots of garlic and Italian seasoning. Side of watermelon (from Food Lion and it was pretty good!).

twinredheads - how a great time!

Jdouglas - I hope you are feeling better today. At least you did not have to cook. :-)

No clue what dinner tonight is going to be. I think DH is going to surprise me for my Birthday dinner. Happy Mother's Day weekend to all of you. Maybe my cats will surprise me with a card. ;-)

Twinredheads, enjoy your kid-free date night with your DH!

RFB, your chicken sounds good. DW might even like that. She likes orange beef. I might even be able to sneak a little chopped broccoli into it. Cdavismk1, your chicken sounds good, too! What kind of BBQ sauce are you using or did you make it? If so, recipe please! :)

Losltp, I haven't tried grilling cod. Is it sturdy enough to hold up to the grill? If not, throw it in the oven on a piece of parchment paper or nonstick foil lined baking pan! S so the cleanup is easy. Enjoy!

Raesmom, cupcakes for dinner is always on the top of my list. So kind of your to offer little Rae for visits! lolol ;) Have fun at the zoo!

We're having leftover chicken with gravy, rice, and maybe the last of the salad if Dad is feeling up to eating.

In response to everyone last night I agree that blood does not make a family. For those of you who have not been able to have children do get down on can borrow Rae at anytime :) (no really just let me know hahahaha) Like Faye said the work you have done for others (4 legged and 2 legged) has done more than you can imagine! Although I cant be with mom this year, I am going to enjoy my day with Rae. I think we are going to the zoo.

Didnt make the chicken last night so thats whats for dinner tonight :) Rae and I made funfetti cupcakes last night for dessert (or maybe they were dinner lol) so we will have some of those throughout the weekend.

tonight -DH 's turn to plan and cook! He will probably order pizza or grill something - maybe the Cod using jdouglas13 "recipe" .
We have fresh corn, green beans and salad fixings to choose from.
All easy and little cleanup !!

TRH, FREE is awesome. RFB, your chicken sounds really good. Grab and go tonite, as I am having a yard sale tomorrow. I'm really excited about my Crock Pot pulled BBQ chicken that I'm doing while I'm "working" tomorrow!

    Twinredheads- what a nice treat!

And tonight we're going super simple. I really like the Mandarin Orange Chicken from Trader Joe's (for a treat- not very healthy!) It's under $7 and is plenty for the both of us. You just bake it up and then heat up the sauce in a skillet (I add some crushed red pepper). Then stir in the chicken once baked. Serve over rice. Better than Chinese takeout :-)

Even BETTER than last Friday where we paid $12 for the four of us for dinner. Tonight the girls are going out with friends and will be spending their own money, and DH and I are going to the SAS employee spring picnic where everything is free :)
