At the request of my oldest daughter, dinner tonight is cheese tortellini with chicken, sugar snap peas and apple slices.

granvillesc - we are happy to have you as a lurker and you are more than welcome to post any time you want. :-) Thanks so much for reading the blog!

RFB - I hope we do not get any more storms tonight so your pup can settle down. Poor little guy.

Jdouglas - your london broil sounds fabulous. I am also on a mission to clean out the freezer, hence the frozen cheese tortellini.

Raesmom - cute dessert story about your sister. :-) Keeping your mom in my thoughts.

ascherer - I love hummingbirds! I Need to put out a feeder new my office window so I can see them during the day.

Raesmom - I'm sending good thoughts for you and your family.

GranvilleSC - I was a lurker too. I took me a long to post that first time. Once you do that first post, it get's easier. ;-)

On the subject of last nights storms - it got so bad that the glasses and plates were rattling in the cabinet. So, I hid out in the powder room for about a half an hour. The powder room is the only room on the first floor without any windows. My closet even has a window.

I have been a lurker for a long time. Not sure why it was done, but I am really glad that the blogs are back. I've missed reading the posts. I've gotten great ideas from all of you. Thanks so much!
Now I'll go back to lurking!

Raesmom- thanks for the update on your mom... sending continued hugs to you and your family.

Jdouglas- I'm with you on the thunderstorms. I though my dog was fine, but today when I took him to the vet for a check up he was a scardey cat. I've never seen him be so shy and act so odd. They said it was from last night and he was still scared- poor thing :-(

Glad you're back Raesmom -- sending continued good thoughts for your Mom.

Dinner tonight, let's hoping we don't get more thunderstorms, is a tamari marinated London broil on the grill, salad, and mashed potatoes. I've been trying really hard to stay out of the grocery stores as much as possible and use up some of the older stuff in the freezer. I'm also trying to keep the grocery spending way down for the next few months as well, as we're getting ready for the big day.

I just got back from a trip to buffalo visting my mom in the ICU and while we were all there one of my sisters gave me a good laugh.........my little sister says "how do you spell desserts" and my oldest sister says "its frustrated backwards", I said "ummmm dont you mean its STRESSED backwards??" oldest sister says "oh yea I knew it was something like that, I eat desserts whenever im stressed or frustrated, its all the same for me!" I couldnt stop laughing!!!

No clue tonight. DH has an evening meeting. So it might just be the gourmet buffet. If I only have to feed me, I will do a jdouglas trick and have M&C only mine will be out of the box. Happy Friday everyone.

PS - to any of you who are hummingbird fans - a friend in Raleigh saw her first hummingbird on Thursday. So my feeders are all clean, refilled, and put out. Last year was the first year I tried feeding humming birds. I started off with 1 mid-May and ended the season with 4. Hopefully I will see one of mine today.
