RFB - not sure if you will see this, but I forgot about artichokes in the pressure cooker! That's how my Mom used to make them and they were always perfect. And how could you not get the red!! ;)

Ascherer- that soup sounds delicious! Love bean soup.

Jdouglas- I ended up getting a Wolfgang Puck electric 8-qt. It was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but they had a special HSN free shipping and 5 month flex pay (plus the red looks so good in my kitchen)! The roast came out really nice tonight. I had to go almost 1/2 hour longer to get it tender, but it was a pretty big one. All in all, 1-1/2 hrs. is FAR better than 4 hrs. :-) Most excited for artichoke season to come.

Tonight (and many more nights) for dinner is Senate Ham and Bean Soup. We made a large batch. It was too large for the crock pot and had to be made in DH's huge stockpot.

RFB - I missed the details about your new pressure cooker. What kind did you get and is it stovetop or electric? I think you'll really enjoy it. It makes fabulous pot roast. Enjoy! :)

Faye your dinner sounds yummy too... what time did you say you're serving?

I pulled a pork blade roast out of the freezer so I think we'll have that tonight (roasted with EVOO, garlic, herbs) with either mashed or roasted potatoes (DW gets to choose), roasted acorn squash for me, and broccoli since it is time for DW to get reacquainted with green food LOL.

RFB - that bread is sooo good! And your pot roast sounds so good!

Faye- thanks! And your dinner sounds so yummy! I am also so glad we've had such great coupons on the La Brea bread!

RFB - How fun! I can't wait to hear what you think of your new pressure cooker.

Tonight we are having chicken alfredo with salad and La Brea rosemary sourdough bread. Chicken on sale for $1.99/lb last week, pasta was free at previous super doubles, sauce was less than $1 with sale/coupons, bread was on sale at HT last week with coupon.

    Happy Friday everyone!

I'm going to use the pressure cooker for the first time, so I think I'll do a pot roast with a roast on sale at FL. I'm also going to try a whole chicken this afternoon to have for salads, etc. this weekend.
