We always bought from Burpee's and Parks Seeds. Had good luck with both.

Thanks, Losltp! :) I just checked both sites, and found the purple ruffles basil seed on Burpee, which I think is where I got it last year, along with a variety of lettuce and mesclun. The red lettuce and a little kale has somehow survived our awful winter, and is now resprouting much to my surprise!

I'm off to buy more seeds -- thanks again!

My mother surpported them Greatly during her lifetime ( as well as Burpees) - she grew up growing/raising almost all the food her family ate .

Nakabi those apples do sound good and ice cream makes anything good!

I'm not sure about dinner tonight. It may end up being grilled cheese and homemade chicken soup that I made a while ago in the freezer. I got a redbox code for rent one get another rental free so it will movie and popcorn night later.

Nakabi- thanks for the recipe! Brings smiles as we used to make these for the B&B I worked at. But, I really like the crock pot idea!

losltp- I'm with you and apple dumplings, too. There was a place we'd drive to every year called the Apple Farm out in California.... just to buy their apple dumplings :-)

Last night ended up being scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage, and English muffins. Tonight looks like it will be some kind of soup (maybe cream of asparagus?) and biscuits as DW is having some mouth problems and needs something soft.

Nakabi, that purple ruffles basil is so good and it grows like a weed. It's really pretty, too, because the edges are all ruffly. I have bought plants from the NC State Farmers Market in Raleigh, but I have also purchased seed online, which is probably what I'll do again this year if I can find the site I bought them from.

Thanks for the recipe - I have saved it for trying tomorrow !
My mother-in-law loved baked apples and apple dumplings which I never found the right recipe for ( to match her memories )
With your apples & the bread recipe form PriviligesRevoked my house will smell SO GOOD ( and I will gain 5 lbs lol ) !

Nakabi, stuffed apples - I haven't made them in TOO long! I used to add just a little quick cook oatmeal to the 'stuffing' too - now you're making me think about making these and I really, really need to be quilting! Perhaps one day this week I'll indulge :)
