RFB - I am betting you will love the Bailey's creamer in hot chocolate!

  • RaleighFoodBlogger Oct 11, 2013

jdouglas- Well... it just reminds me of caramel, as it bakes up really sweet and thick. And yes, very similar to sticky chicken!

Faye- that is a great idea on the Bailey's. I have two that I didn't really know what to do with as I'm allergic to coffee. Might actually try them in some White Hot Chocolate ;-)

Meredith - hope you are feeling better very very soon!

tthomas3 - we have discovered that the free Bailey's creamer from HT this week is excellent in hot chocolate. So far we have tried the French Vanilla, White Choc. Raspberry and Toffee Almond. All are delicious and turn the .10 packet of hot chocolate into a little bit of heaven during my 6:30 am drive to the high school!

NCGirl16, that's not it exactly, but it's close enough that I can make it work! Thank you !!!!!!!! :)

Meredith, hope you're feeling better soon. Change of season colds are yucky.

RFB, you never cease to surprise me - caramel chicken? I get the orange, but details please. I would never have thought to combine the two. Is it along the lines of sticky chicken?

TThomas, enjoy your breakfast for dinner. Sounds delish, especially the hot chocolate!

Faye, I would be honored for you to be my taste tester. Desserts at the December swap would be fun. Great idea to have it at WRAL! I'm in. Maybe by then I'll find the recipe for that cake.

Dinner? OMG is it that time again already? I bought some chicken from Lowes ($1.99/lb) that needs to be trimmed, wrapped, and frozen, a rather odd assortment of veg including about 5 lbs of asparagus LOL, a yen for mac & cheese, and a very sick puppy on my hands which makes nothing sound good after all the cleaning up I did when we got home earlier.

Honestly, the only thing I know for sure we're eating tonight is the last of DW's birthday cake.

I'm just getting over the end of a week-long cold and think I'll take the night off from cooking :) So we will be eating leftovers from last night. I made chicken tenders using a Kraft Fresh Take (free from SD), rice in the rice cooker (still using a 20lb bag that was gifted to us over a year ago), and frozen veggies from a SD event.

I am having breakfast for supper. Ham, fried eggs and pancakes I think would be nice on this chilly evening following such a dark & dreary day. Might possibly fix some hot cocoa then curl up on the couch for some TV.

jdouglas - might this be the amaretto cake you speak of? http://relish.com/recipes/italian-love-cake/
It says to spread the ricotta mixture on top and not mix it in. This recipe is chocolate but you could substitute vanilla/yellow cake instead I guess.

RFB - we are doing easy peasy tonight as well. Your dinner sounds delicious...as always! :-) Thanks for sharing.

Got the markdown chicken at LF today and going to do my Caramel Orange Chicken. Have frozen orange juice concentrate and honey on hand. Then baked potatoes (left from HT sale) and a salad (leftover romaine). Easy peasy! :-)
