What's for dinner Friday?

Posted September 20, 2013

Here's the beef stew I just put into the slow cooker for dinner tonight. The house will be smelling great in just a few hours!

Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like. If you need some inspiration for your own dinner tonight, this may give you some helpful ideas for what to make with all the great deals you have bought on sale recently.

What's on your menu tonight?

Free Subway sandwiches (with the purchase of a drink) from the grand opening of the new store at Hwy 55 and High House in Cary. Heading out to the soccer park so we needed something portable :)

meredith88 - have a great time on your vacation! Where are you going? I want to live vicariously through you! lol

We are having leftover beef stew and noodles with a side salad.

The Chirba Chirba truck sounds great!

I'm going to roast a chicken tonight and then try making the homemade broth for soup over the weekend! Think I'll do a grilled Caesar salad on the side... need to get back to more low carb eating! :-)

    Happy vacation, Meredith!

Tonight we are having the other half of the London broil (HT BOGO) that we grilled last night. Option A is to have it cold, sliced thin as part of a salad with tomatoes, corn, gorgonzola, or Option B, turn it into stroganoff with a beef-mushroom-sour cream sauce over noodles, fresh green beans on the side.

Tonight we are having leftovers from throughout the week to clean the fridge out before vacation. There's a mix of Chinese food, squash casserole, chili, fried chicken, and pizza. An odd meal indeed but there's only a tiny bit of each and I don't want to cook more food since we leave at 3am tomorrow. See you all in a week!

Chirba Chirba has started coming to my office building. Agree, very yummy! The noodle salad is very good too. Dinner for us tonight is grilled pizza using $1 dough balls from HT, cheese from B2G3 at HT, armor pepperoni bought last week during triples and a few other toppings I'll get today. YUM!!!

OK, anyone who is experimental with food needs to check out the Chirba Chirba truck the first chance they get. It's definitely not Southern food, but it is seriously DELICIOUS. I got the Juicy Buns (and I'm not a fan of steamed dough) with a spicy dipping sauce and the spicy sweet Chinese sausage. May have to make finding Chirba Chirba a weekly chore....
