    Meredithelizabethmiller: I am seeing almost daily post about crockpot cooking on DH's Facebook account. If you will email me your address, I will email them to you.


    You will go "nuts" over this holiday classic, which crocks up beautifully!
    1 uncooked pie-crust
    3 eggs
    1 cup sugar
    2/3 cup dark Karo syrup
    1 cup pecans, broken up 1/2 cup margarine, melted 1 teaspoon vanilla Directions 1: Spray the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. 2: Place uncooked pie-crust in the slow cooker and press up the edges about 1/2 inch up the sides. 3: In a medium-mixing bowl, stir the remaining ingredients until well mixed. Pour on top of the pie-crust. 4: Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 to 3 hours.

    LOL nothing too special Faye, just my secret ingredient......vanilla extract :) yes I add a splash of vanilla extract to my bbq sauce along with some other kitchen favorites hubby loves it!!!!

    Boring veggie pizza and salad. Friday is the only day my husband eats out for lunch, so I make a simple supper.

    I haven't got a clue in the world tonight and am too tired to cook or eat with this heat. Takeout sounds awesome, and makes me a little homesick for NY takeout, or at least Apex takeout!!

    Last night was spaghetti carbonara with bacon, eggs, broccoli, parm and garlic, if that helps anyone who needs an idea. I had forgotten how easy it is to cook bacon in the microwave and how mess-free. I started with a frozen package and within about 20 minutes had a cooked pound of bacon.

    We had a wonderful change of plans - because I won't have to cook! :-)

    Take out Chinese and 4 of us are sharing 3 entrees. I'll also serve a bag of Asian Steamfresh veggies. There goes my entertainment budget for the weekend! lol

    I think we're going with breakfast for supper as well. I'm starting to run out of ideas that don't involve the stove or oven. So I'll use the cast iron frying pan on the grill to cook some eggs and bacon and pull the toaster out of storage in the living room ;) We have tons of fresh fruit from Aldi yesterday so we should be set.

    I'm thinking about making taco salad tonight. I've got some leftover taco meat in the freezer from a taco pie concoction last week so I'm going to use that up. We didn't have any veggies with dinner last night so I think this will fit the bill with lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers and green onions. Topped with salsa and sour cream.
