Wendell teen dies in single-car crash

— A Wendell girl died Monday morning in a wreck on State Road 2322 near State Road 2409, according to police.

Tiffany Michelle Strickland, 18, of 2400 Davistown Road, ran off the road to the right and over-corrected. She hit a cable box, ran into a ditch and her car flipped, according to the report on the wreck. She was not wearing a seat belt.

No other vehicles were involved, and Strickland was alone in the car, police said.

    Hasen't it become obvions that our children are not receiving adaquate driving instructions? There has been a rash of kids being killed in automobile accidents. Better instruction and more driving experience is desperately needed. Am I the only one who sees the need here?

    I lived in Wendell for over 10 years. This girl was near my Son's age and my heart goes out to her family. I may know them. My worst fear is losing one of my kids (20 & 28) to a car accident. To the family: I'm so so sorry for your loss. I don't even want to imagine it. My love goes out to you. God Bless...
