Like so many home improvement shows, WRAL.com is making the "big reveal" of its first major redesign project in seven years.
Today, you will find a website that has been completely re-imagined. Highlights include:
- Cleaner design
- Reduced clutter
- Streamlined navigation
- Faster loading pages
- Larger photos
- Greater emphasis on video
- More convenient sharing of content
- Easier access to comments
We created a design that will deliver the best possible experience for users on every platform and device. Our responsive design will format content specifically for desktops and laptops, tablets and smartphones. It also will adapt well to devices that have yet to be designed. That means visitors can access 18 years of WRAL News content from an iPhone or Android device with the same ease as desktop users.
Additionally, we have redesigned our sports site, WRALSportsFan.com. We wanted to make it easier for visitors to move between the two sites while allowing WRALSportsFan to have its own identity. All of the enhancements made to WRAL.com also have been applied to our sports content.
If past redesigns are an indicator, we'll get lots of feedback on the new WRAL.com -- both positive and negative. And that's a good thing. We think it shows we have loyal visitors who have come to depend on the site for up-to-the minute news, weather, sports, traffic and entertainment.
We encourage you to use the green Feedback tab on the right side of the page to share your comments. We will read every message and respond to as many as we can. We'll use your feedback to help guide future enhancements.
To make the transition smoother, we suggest you to take the brief guided, interactive tour of new site features.
We also suggest visiting the new Help Center. This section contains answers to many common questions, including where to locate content that may have moved in the new design.
We are asking you to digest a good bit of change. At the same time, we remain committed to delivering the same timely, relevant and dependable information you have come to expect from the state's most popular news site. We hope you enjoy the changes, and we welcome your comments.
