Will I be the giddy fan who can't control her excitement when Weird Al stops at Quail Ridge Books & Music next month? Time will tell, I suppose.

At the very least, I have some time to compose myself before the big day. Back, many years ago, I pretty much knew all of his songs by heart. My best friend and I would sing them at the top of our lungs. I can't believe I'm sharing this.

Al Yankovic, better known as Weird Al, the song parodist, will stop at Quail Ridge at 7 p.m., June 28, with his latest children's book, "My New Teacher and Me!"

This is Yankovic's second children's book with HarperCollins. His first was the bestselling "When I Grow Up," which I'll be checking out as soon as possible for my own kids.

Here's a synopsis of his new book courtesy of Quail Ridge: "Young Billy returns from Al's 'When I Grow Up.' When the irresistible force of Billy's unrestrained creativity meets the immovable object of Mr. Booth's fixed worldview, one thing is obvious: Someone is going to learn a lot this school year!"

This book is for ages 4 and up. It's a signing line ticket event, which means that you get a ticket to stand in the signing line by buying a copy of "My New Teacher and Me" from Quail Ridge. The book will be in stores on June 25.
