Cary, N.C. — Wegmans Food Markets, the No. 1-ranked grocery store by Consumer Reports, is in lease negotiations for a store across from Cary Towne Center.
The family-owned, Rochester, N.Y.-based chain has 88 stores in New York, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts.
A statement from spokeswoman Jo Natale indicates, "We have signed a letter of intent and are working through lease negotiations with Columbia Development Group, with hopes of reaching a final lease agreement sometime during the first quarter of 2016.”
