Weekly shopping totals for August 21 - 27: Saved 77%!

Time to calculate those savings!

Here are my weekly shopping totals for the week of August 21 - August 27. They include how much I would have spent without sales and coupons, how much I saved and how much I actually spent. How did you do?

Subtotal before sales and coupons: $418.38
Total saved: $ 323.70
Total paid: $94.68
Saved: 77%

My weekly budget is $80/week so I was over the budget last week by $14.68. BUT, I was under budget by $22 the week before so I am actually right on target for the 2 week period! And I did a lot of stocking up at Harris Teeter on shredded cheese and tortillas and at Lowes Foods on Super Doubles deals!

I shopped at Lowes Foods Super Doubles 3 times, Harris Teeter, Kroger (I passed by it on the way to the bank so I made a stop for produce and tortilla chips and the weekly freebies I had saved on my card), CVS and Target this week. It was more shopping than usual, but with Super Doubles, I made extra trips.

How did you do this week?

To figure out the percentage you saved:

Take the total amount saved divided by the total amount before sales and coupons.

How did you do this week?

Thanks and you're welcome! :) I look forward to this post every week. It's a good reality check, and I get to see where I can do better.

jdouglas - your OOP for the month is awesome! Well done and thanks for sharing your totals. :-)

Faye, your totals are awesome! This week we made a trip to HT, Lowes, and FL, in spite of our reduced spending mission for the month. As I mentioned in a previous post, from just our trip to HT and Lowes, we got most of what we needed for 20 nights of dinners, so I was very happy. We also bought 9 12-packs of Diet Coke for me, chips and half & half for coffee for my DW, so everyone got their necessities. ;)

Total retail $226.83, OOP $106.60, savings $120.23 or 53%. Our total OOP for the month is still under $200. Woohoo :)
