Baked ravioli with salad


Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like. If you need some inspiration for your own dinner tonight, this may give you some helpful ideas.

What's on your menu tonight?

Here is our menu for the week:

Monday: Homemade veggie soup with egg noodles and a side of crusty bread

Tuesday: French Dip sandwiches, au gratin potatoes (free Idahoan Steakhouse taters from the Kroger Friday Freebie last week), steamed broccoli

Wednesday:  Baked cheese ravioli, garlic bread, salad

Thursday: Chicken tacos with all the veggie, cheese and sauce fillings with corn and apple slices on the side

Friday: Homemade veggie pizza using Mama Mary's pizza crust from HT sale ending 10/7, some kind of fruit (depends on what is on sale later this week)

    Nakabi - I am sure the chocolate apple strudel was wonderful! I think I will make the apple dumplings again for everyone tomorrow. I do love apple season!

    Twinredheads-great minds think alike! Using up some chicken breasts from Aldi, lemons from Aldi and other ingredients on hand to make lemon pepper chicken. Will have roasted beets, green beans, and mashed sweet potatoes with it. I had 10 pounds of gala apples from going apple picking with the family and my inlaws so last night I tried to make a caramel apple strudel in the crockpot. Got to the end and discovered Mr. Nichols had used up thr caramel sauce. So instead I used chocolate sauce; he LOVED it!!!! Topped it with vanilla bean ice-creme and the entire crockpot is empty today!

    Tonight we are having leftover beef stew that I made in the crock pot on Saturday. The stew beef is from the 1/2 cow in our freezer, potatoes from Aldi 2 weeks ago, carrots and onions from Aldi this week.

    Tuesday - Chicken Fajitas. The chicken was bought on clearance at Food Lion months ago and frozen. The tortillas, onions and peppers were all gifted to us.

    That's as far as I've gotten with the menu for the week. It completely slipped my mind to do it yesterday.

    I think we need a recipe section! Everyones dinner sounds yummy :) We are having sweet potatoes,ham steaks and not sure on veggie yet

    Alwaysab- that soup sounds wonderful- how creative!

    Raesmom- so glad Rae is feeling better! And peanut butter cookies sound great! I'm thinking about doing some peanut butter cacao ice cream tonight (although it's raw, so not as good as pb cookies, but at least it has the flavors lol!)

    Twinredheads- Lemon pepper chicken is an old fav... and love the idea of doing it in a slow cooker!

    Caesar salad for me, so that must mean chicken for the folks I live with. They will be having bbq baked chicken drumsticks with a side of rice and spanish beans.

    Banana bread sounds yummy Faye! Rae is doing better so time to get in the kitchen and make a mess!!! Im thinking peanut butter cookies tonight, or maybe ill go pick up that cocoa and do brownies with her :)

    Faye- what wonderful banana bread additions! I'm so excited to now be able to enjoy nuts and seeds... still can't believe I add pumpkin seeds to my salads every day (and dried cranberries- yum!)

    Tonight I'm going to cook up some of the cod from the HT sale in foil with olive oil and thyme, and maybe a chopped tomato. And also do a sauté of beet greens w/leeks plus mustard roasted potatoes on the side (HT e-vic for Yukon Gold). I love adding beets to my salads now, so I'm hoping to get some use out the greens now, too!
