Wontons: Pizza Wontons, Cheesy Chicken Wontons, Cream Cheese Strawberry Wontons

Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening or the week, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like.

If you aren't sure what to have for dinner, take a look at the comments and you may find some inspiration.

At my JoCo Diner this week, I'll be serving:

Cajun shrimp, rice, sauteed mushrooms, onions and zucchini, milk chocolate brownies made on Sunday with whipped cream on top (BOGO at HT in the cans in the fridge section)

Baked Celentano cheese ravioli, spinach salad, crescent rolls

Chicken salad sandwiches on Pepperidge Farm cheese swirl bread (BOGO with $1/1 coupon on package at Harris Teeter = $1.00!). Sides of caprese salad and watermelon.

Southwestern egg and bacon tortilla rolls-ups with scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, sauteed peppers and onion, cheddar and salsa. Side of watermelon. Eggs are on sale at Walgreens for only .79 through 7/23! Such a great deal!

Finger food night! Various wontons including cheese buffalo chicken wontons, pizza wontons, and cream cheese strawberry wontons (see photo above), veggie tray with hummus, strawberries.

jdouglas13 - what a cute brownie cups sundae idea! Did you eat dinner yet? LOLOL

Oh, and what I came on for -- dinner menu. Still working on it, but I think it's going to be M&C with a side salad. Plan B is a burger on the grill with a salad. Obviously, we don't eat very early around here! LOL

Those wonton cups are so cute. I just found something I had saved on Pinterest a while back that sounded interesting. You make brownie cups in a muffin tin (batter in the tin, then another tin on top to make the indentation when baked) and then fill them with ice cream and toppings for a brownie sundae. I have a friend coming for dinner this weekend, I might make them. Just need to find out what kind of ice cream she likes!

raesmom1612 - good to know that the Food Lion delivery went well. Thanks for the follow-up info. And welcome back!!

meredith88 - you are almost there!! And I love shrimp tacos!

lindabates - thanks for sharing your menu! Chocolate chip cupcakes sound fabulous.

ybaverage2003 - no real recipes. I just throw various ingredients into won ton cups I pre-baked in muffin tins for about 6 minutes at 350 degrees. Then I bake them for another 6 - 8 minutes. For the pizza ones, I put in a little pasta sauce, some sauteed veggies, mozzarella and parm. For the buffalo chicken ones I mixed chopped chicken breast pieces with bbq sauce, ranch dressing, garlic powder and a little hot sauce then topped with cheddar. For the dessert cups, I mixed light cream cheese with stevia and a touch of vanilla and then topped it with strawberry jam. You can bake just about anything in the cute little cups. The kids love them - so do I.

Thanks for the encouraging word jdouglas. With all the work ive done today (so far) and now that I am working until 5, im thinking dinner will be out today......chipotle maybe :) Ill save the pasta and meatballs for tomorrow. BTW I loved the delivery from food lion instacart.. Two of the items that I requested were out so the shopper swapped them for something similar (I got lemon scented disinfectant wipes and they only has fresh scent available) and they sent me a text and I had to approve the swap. It was really nice. The lady was nice too. Didn't need my help getting my bags out of the car, she brought them right up on the porch for me. I will use again in an extreme circumstance. Not sure that I would want to pay $5.99 for delivery fee each time.

Welcome home Raesmom! Please remember not everything has to be done today. The world won't end if you don't get the place cleaned and laundry done today. :)

I have no idea what I'm making tonight for dinner, so I'm looking for inspiration. Last night was homemade sausage and mushroom pizza. My dough recipe makes two and doesn't freeze well, so I have a pizza leftover for another night this week.

Tonight is up in the air depending on work schedules so it's TBD.

Tomorrow night we are making shrimp tacos with the fresh shrimp on sale at HT this week, home made slaw and pineapple salsa.

Wednesday night we're having lasagna. I already cooked it on Saturday so it just has to be reheated.

I gave in and finally started packing up the kitchen last night so the rest of the week will probably be frozen pizzas, Lean Cuisines, etc. 5 days and counting.....

Being that today is my first day back home (YAY!!!) I was overwhelmed with all that had to be done. While the girls and I were in Buffalo DH had his 13yr old brother and 14 yr old nephew here. Needless to say I am out of food lol. I knew that it would be too much on my hands (DH had to go back to work this morning, I work at 1 today) to unpack, wash clothes, cook dinner, clean the house (to my standards) and take the rental car back all before 1 pm, so I enlisted the help of Food Lion and the instacart delivery service. I liked the product options & how you can type in what you are looking for. My first delivery is free and should be here between 1pm-2pm. I gave a nice tip to the poor person shopping for me (I got 40 items) bc it is really taking a lot of stress off my shoulders. I hope I like it and plan to use it again in the future. With all of that being said, today we are having spaghetti with homemade sauce and scratch made meatballs. The rest of the week is to be determined :)
