YBAverage, I haven't heard of Lidl, but I would welcome any and all stores venturing out to JoCo!

Lindabates, I hope your spring break turns out to be a break for you. :) I was just falling asleep not too long before you were waking up this morning.

Barbiedoll, thanks for the reminder about the Kroger peppers. I might have to go out of my way and get some.

Faye, how do you make your cajun shrimp? Your Passover menu sounds yummy!

So I have no clue what's for dinner here this week, other than possibly the Kroger peppers (probably as sausage and peppers) if I make it there, but most of it will definitely come from the pantry and freezer as I continue to pare down.

I haven't been in much of a cooking mood for several months now, and it really shows in my grocery spending. My year to date is $934 oop. Last year at this time, I'm embarrassed to say my spending was over $1700!

Does anyone else track their grocery spending?

lindabates - aren't you supposed to sleep in on Spring Break??!! Your menu for the week looks great. Let us know if you find any casserole recipes you love.

barbiedoll1967 - you already know I love that turkey sausage and peppers recipe! LOL

ybaverage2003 - thanks for the Wegman's report. I am really looking forward to the one opening in Cary. I am near there visiting my dad almost every week and there is an HT right in the same area. No new news on the Clayton Lidl, but I did send my Lidl contact an e-mail this morning to ask if he had an update on the Triangle area stores. I'll let you know.

Make spaghetti & meat sauce last night, so probably leftovers tonight. Will add some garlic bread and salad. Went to Wegmans for the first time over the weekend (in Richmond)...great store but probably not very frugal. Got an awesome loaf of Italian bread, but was $4 :( Worth it as a treat. I would love to see some additional options in Clayton. I live too far from Harris Teeter to make that a good option, so I am left with Food Lion, Lowes and WalMart. Has anyone heard anymore about the potential Lidl grocery store coming to Clayton ?

I think tonight will be turkey sausage with peppers and onions. I got the turkey sausage a while back when Harris Teeter had it on sale with a coupon. I got the peppers from Kroger for .88 cents a piece and I already have an onion.
