    Happy Hanukkah everyone! :)

DW is on her own tonight, but has wonderful leftovers from an amazing dinner we had with friends last night.

I'm up at my Dad's and my sister is the chef du jour. I'm having Triscuits and candy in the meantime. ;)

Walkerwest, enjoy your new kitchen! I am totally envious.

RFB - thank you for the review on Hello Fresh, but I am so sorry it was negative experience. Glad they are crediting your account, but what a pain.

nakabi - That is so wonderful that the kids get to enjoy food they have not tried before. You are really opening up their eyes to all the wonderful tastes out there. My youngest daughter had a friend join us for dinner last night and we had a few traditional recipes for Chanukah that he had never heard of or tried before. It was fun seeing his reaction. I think he ate 20 latkes (potato pancakes) - seriously!

    observant - thanks!

Thanks for sharing your menus lindabates and garnertoy!

We have 3 of our youth from church coming over and they requested ethnic food so I'm rosemary and butter rubbed lamb sosaties (kabobs), kabsa (Iraqi rice with eggplant and potatoes in it..a bit similar to sofrito in texture and colour), salad, and tabbouleh. Leftover banana pudding for dessert.

Tonight we're having steak salads using the 25% off Nature's Pace steak this week at FL.

And regarding my Hello Fresh box... I do not recommend. We were supposed to get our delivery Saturday and waited all day (called at around 7pm and they said it will be there by 8pm). Nothing (and us very hungry). Then nothing yesterday, and finally delivered a bit ago. Of course, just about everything had to be thrown out as the meat wasn't cold enough anymore. They are crediting me, and I cancelled my account, but it was a huge inconvenience. Also, after looking at the contents, I understand the meats being smaller portions, but the veggies were also very small servings. I don't think I could ever justify the value (especially since you still do all the cooking).
