Chicken tacos

Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like. If you need some inspiration for your own dinner tonight, this may give you some helpful ideas.

What's on your menu tonight?

This week, our meals include:

Monday: Turkey and avocado sliders on Sister Shubert's Sweet Hawaiian rolls (with tomato, light mayo and lettuce), sweet potato fries, apple slices

Tuesday: Shrimp and pasta with broccoli, carrots, mushrooms and onions, rolls

Wednesday:  Chicken tacos with all the taco toppings (tomatoes, lettuce, onions, cheese, light sour cream, salsa), rice, fruit of some kind

Thursday:  Salmon burgers, cole slaw, green salad

Friday:  Pizza night! Homemade veggie pizzas using the Mama Mary's pre-made crusts on sale at Lowes Foods through 9/30, sides of steamed carrots and fruit (probably apple slices again since they are so delicious right now!)

Thanks Faye. Birthday cake might even become the entrée since I haven't started cooking yet.

Wanted to let you know there is a Mama Mary's pizza crust coupon right now over on Smart Source. I didn't notice the zip, but it's whatever Southern Savers uses.

jdouglas13 - enjoy your mac & cheese (and hopefully leftover birthday cake!!). :-)

Great dinners tonight, everyone. I realized I had some corn on the cob that needed to be eaten so we had that as well.

Raesmom - good luck with the oven!

Raesmom, so glad your oven part arrived! It should be an easy fix, I think. If you have any trouble, google the manufacturer and model number and you should be able to find instructions to fix it.

Faye, glad you reminded me about the red peppers at Lowes. I've been meaning to get some and forgot all about it.

RFB, I'm looking forward to hearing what you think about the turnip greens. I've never had them, but since I love kale, chard, etc., I'm thinking turnip greens might be next.

Everyone's menus sound good, especially for this gloomy Monday evening. I think we are having either Old Faithful for dinner or possibly spaghetti carbonara.

Leftover spaghetti and meatballs/sausage, salad and garlic bread.

Take and bake pizza from the Kroger deli that I picked up yesterday. On sale 2 for $10 and I had a $1.30 coupon that they sent me in the mail. $3.70 isn't bad especially since it will be both dinner and school lunch tomorrow for the girls :)

BBQ Chicken sandwiches with potato soup and broccoli slaw.

AAAHHHH I went home for lunch and the oven piece was there!!!!! YAY we are back :) So that chicken may be going into the oven with some gravy and mashed potatoes and veggies :) Depending on how long it will take us to put it in

Still no oven piece :( so its chicken something in the slow cooker today, I may throw some marinara in there and call it is chicken spaghetti, or........chicken tacos on the stove top. We shall see
