Homemade alfredo and olive pizza

Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening or the week, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like.

If you aren't sure what to have for dinner, take a look at the comments and you may find some inspiration.

What's on your menu for the week?

This week at the Prosser Cafe, you will find:

Shrimp salad on ciabatta bread and cantaloupe from the farmer's market,

Spinach, mushroom and cheese omelets, turkey bacon, ciabatta toast (eggs from Walgreens last week for .99/dozen, turkey bacon from HT sale through 6/28 using .55 coupon)

Breaded chicken breast tenders, corn on the cob, salad

Zucchini enchilada boats and rice

Homemade pizza again this week because the kids liked it so much they asked for a repeat performance.

I used the $1 Harris Teeter dough balls on sale through 6/28, free Ragu alreado pasta sauce (from HT SD), Black olives (on sale for .99 from Walgreens recently), shredded mozzarella (B2G3F from HT recently - it will be on sale again for B2G3F starting Wednesday, June 29!), Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning and garlic powder.

I pre-baked the crust with a bit of olive oil spray and seasoning for 8 minutes before putting on the toppings and baking for another 9 minutes at 400 degrees on my pizza stone.

Golden Coral takeout. I purchased meats (steak, bourbon chicken, pork bbq, 2 slices of ham, 1pc fried chicken). Then I came home and made corn on cob and a salad. Have enough leftover for another meal for 4 and snacks.

JDouglas, I use plain shaved beef. I've tried the packaged "philly meats" in the freezer section before but they have fillers added to them and don't taste as good. I've also used shaved pork once and it was just as good as the shaved beef. I once tried cutting a london broil really thin but I can't cut as thin as the butcher so I didn't like it quite as much.

Sounds like it's a scorcher out there. Its pretty chilly out here (for the girls and I at least lol) temp is supposed to be in the 70's over the next few day. Poor girls are coming down with something. Thought it was just allergies for Rae but when the baby some up with puffy eyes, a cough and sneezies I knew it had to be something more. Went out this weekend to hang with my siblings so didnt get to make corn chowder or baked ziti. Tonight will be corn chowder since it's so cold lol and tomorrow I'll try the baked ziti.

Meredith, what do you use for the meat in your Philly cheesesteak?

  • lindabates Jun 27, 11:10 a.m.

Monday: chicken and mash potato casserole in crockpot
Tuesday: crockpot country style steak with brown gravy, crockpot mac n cheese and slider rolls
Wednesday: Sandwich and chips ( since I'll be recovering from dental work)
    Thursday: leftovers
    Friday: not sure yet

Last night we made philly cheesesteak sandwiches with multi colored peppers, onions, mushroom, and provolone cheese. Served with tater tots from a recent HT sale and lots of fresh fruit.

Tonight we are going to use our free sandwich coupons from the Chick-fil-A app for a free dinner date :-) We'll likely split a large fry. I also have a coupon that I got from CVS last month for a free Redbox movie rental that we'll use on the way home to get a movie to go with our dinner date!

Pretty pizza :) I was going to say all it's missing is mushrooms until I read your comment.

Last night we had Liberace's Lunch, an old recipe from my Mom, which is basically a bread-egg- muenster and cheddar cheese breakfast casserole. When you serve it, you top it with bacon and fresh tomato slices. It's about a gazillion calories, but it's really tasty every once in a blue moon.

I just had the Princess out for her morning walk, and it is brutal out there (at least for me). I was thinking about cooking out, but it might even be too hot for that. Maybe pork chops (prior sale) and roasted sweet potatoes with a salad? I also have a lot of strawberries, blueberries, and nectarines I need to do something with in a hurry.

ybaverage2003 - not so sure about blueberry pizza. lol Unless it's a yogurt and fruit pizza. That would be good, I think. Like a fruit tart, maybe. I prefer spinach, tomatoes, mushrooms and onions on my pizza, but the teens like black olives and that's it.

Faye, at first I thought your pizza was a blueberry something :) Tonight is grilled chicken breasts with black beans and polenta. Fresh strawberries ( 2 lbs for $3.69 at FL) for dessert.
