Pasta Salad

Here's the place to share your meal ideas for the evening or week, post where you bought the ingredients frugally and even share a recipe if you would like. If you need some inspiration for your own dinner tonight, this may give you some helpful ideas.

What's on your menu tonight?

On the menu at my house this week, you will find:

Monday: Breaded chicken cutlets, steamed baby carrots, challah (egg bread), strawberries & watermelon

Tuesday: Panko crusted Tilapia, roasted red potatoes, steamed broccoli

Wednesday: Teriyaki shrimp and veggies on rice (zucchini and yellow squash on sale for .99/lb at Kroger through 5/12) and crab rangoon (if I get around to making them this time!)

Thursday: BBQ chicken sliders, cole slaw, watermelon, corn

Friday: Pasta bar (multiple pasta shapes, sauces and cheese varieties to choose from), garlic bread, salad

walkerwest - WOW and YES on the Paula Dean recipe! That sounds fabulous!

ascherer - don't you love it when you try a new recipe and you like it so much that you have to make it the next week?! And your comment on "no hot dogs allowed" is great. lol

RFB - Since I went on Sunday and I had a limited coupon selection (LOL) I scavenged the clearance sections all over the store and was happy to find the Challah marked down to $1.99 (usually $4 and up). :-)

Tonight is chicken enchiladas using the chicken we made last week. They were so good that I had to have them again this soon. Everyone's menus and dinner sounds good.

On the M&C - hotdog issue - if it is boxed M&C then yes I would add hotdogs. If it is homemade M&C then no hotdogs allowed.

Walkerwest- wow, that Paula Deen recipe sounds amazing!!!

  • walkerwest May 11, 2015

Tonight we're having one of my all time favorite meals---a Paula Deen recipe of grilled lemon chicken on flatbread with feta cheese, bacon & spinach and topped with fig preserves. Swoon!!!!!!!
Chicken & asparagus stir fry with scallion rice & wontons from the freezer
French bread topped with asparagus wrapped in proscuitto, melted swiss and a fried egg
Cornflake coated pork chops, 3 bean salad, peas & homemade mac/cheese Fri Parmesan herb crusted salmon, roasted potatoes & bok choy with fried shallots.

It's leftover pulled BBQ chicken that I cooked in the crockpot on Saturday. We had it on rolls with cole slaw. AWESOME!!! All your meals sound wonderful and I'll agree with RFB, I'd say yes to the hot dogs with the mac and cheese too!!!

    Lindabates- what an awesome menu!

Jdouglas- that cracks me up on the hot dogs in the mac & cheese! I'd say YES!! I used to love that when I was younger and I'd get to eat "junk food" at friends houses :-)

Garnertoy- can't go wrong with meatloaf!

Faye- sounds like you're still getting some great deals at LF... I need to give them another chance.

Tonight we're having leftover tri tip and I'm making a fennel and leek gratin on the side.

Jdouglas- I agree with you on the hotdog thing!!!! I'm not a hotdog fan anyway but done foods are better not mixed!
Faye - dinner will be ready at 6 ;)

Tonight we are having breaded chicken cutlets, steamed baby carrots, challah (egg bread marked down at LF yesterday), strawberries & watermelon.

Jdouglas _ I am with you on the hot dogs in M&C. Not my thing either.

lindabates - great menu this week! What time should we all come for steaks tonight?! ;-)

garnertoy - that does sound comforting. I hope nothing is wrong that you need comfort food for comforting but if it is, I hope it gets better soon. :-)
